COSY HOMEER Stair Treads 9 x 28 in

Bare indoor stairs can feel slippery underfoot, especially when children, older family members or pets use them. These washable stair treads add a soft polyester surface and a TPE backing designed to grip without glue or tape.

Each tread measures 9" x 28" and the set contains four. That gives you a defined number of steps to cover, rather than a full staircase runner.

If you prioritize a soft, washable covering for selected steps, this format may suit you, if you want continuous coverage from top to bottom, a longer runner is a different approach to consider.

Getting the most from it

Place the treads on clean indoor stairs and press the backing into position. The TPE underside is described as self-adhesive, so separate glue or tape isn’t required, the manufacturer also says they can be lifted and repositioned without leaving residue. The listed suitable surfaces include hardwood, laminate, tile and glass. Since stair finishes vary, make sure each tread sits flat and feels secure before regular use.

For a practical example, four treads could cover a few frequently used steps near a landing, giving bare feet or paws a softer place to land. They’re not recommended for outdoor staircases, so don’t treat them as an all-weather solution.

Why it’s worth it

The surface is 100% polyester, with fine stitching that the manufacturer says is intended to improve durability compared with ordinary chenille mats. The fabric is described as soft and thick, and as helping to reduce footfall noise. That could be useful in a busy home where hard stairs sound sharp under shoes or paws, though the listing doesn’t provide measured noise or grip results.

Being machine washable makes routine cleaning more manageable than with disposable stair coverings. The care instructions call for a pH-neutral detergent and advise against heated drying. The backing is said to retain its anti-slip properties through repeated washing, but there’s no stated wash-cycle count. Check the tread’s position after cleaning and before putting it back into everyday use.

The essentials

The set includes four stair treads, each measuring 9" x 28", with a 100% polyester surface and TPE backing. Their intended use is indoors, and the backing is designed to adhere without separate tape or glue. The surface can go in a washing machine, heated drying is not recommended. These details make the set more suited to targeted coverage and washable upkeep than to a permanently fitted, full-length carpet runner.

It makes sense if you want to soften and cover a small number of indoor steps without installing a fixed runner. No es para ti si you need outdoor coverage, a full-staircase solution, or care instructions that allow heated drying. Although the backing is described as non-slip, the product details don’t guarantee performance on every stair finish, according to the manufacturer, suitability includes several indoor surfaces, but the actual fit still matters.

When to choose it

Choose this set when four washable, soft treads match the number of steps you want to cover and you prefer a removable option over a continuous runner. That format can be easier to place only where foot traffic is highest. If your priority is covering every step with one uninterrupted surface, look for a different style instead. Before choosing, compare the 9" x 28" size with the usable area of your stairs and keep the indoor-only limitation in mind.
