Tips for day-to-day use

The extended listening length makes this a natural choice for listeners who enjoy returning to a story over multiple sessions. You can set aside a longer block when you want to follow the narrative closely, or listen in shorter stretches and pick it up again when your schedule allows. The audiobook format suits people who would rather hear a novel narrated than spend that time reading from a page, while the unabridged presentation offers the story in full.

Reader responses often highlight the storytelling, engaging characters and the book’s ability to hold their attention. Some describe it as an absorbing romance with suspense and twists, and appreciate the character development over the story’s length. Feedback on the suspense is more varied: while some find the tension compelling, others feel it is less consistent than expected. A few listeners also describe darker material as intense, so the overall tone may feel weightier than a light romance.

Getting the most from it

Treat the 17-hour-and-17-minute runtime as a chance to settle into the story rather than a quick listen. A longer session can help maintain continuity through its character development, while returning at a pace that suits your routine makes the audiobook easier to fit into everyday listening time. If you are choosing between an audiobook and a reading format, this edition is the listening-focused option, with Elisabeth Rodgers delivering Nora Roberts’ unabridged story.

Final verdict

Come Sundown is a strong fit for listeners seeking a substantial Nora Roberts audiobook with a mix of romance and suspense. Its full-length narration and extended runtime make it especially suited to anyone who enjoys giving a story time to develop, while the varied reactions to its suspense and darker moments offer a useful sense of its tone before settling in.
