Azxb dog and cat licking mat, 20 × 20 cm

For dogs and cats that need a calm distraction during grooming, bath time or a stressful moment, this square licking mat gives spreadable treats a textured surface to work through. Its 20 × 20 cm format is also described as suitable for puppies and pets of different sizes.

Four textures offer a different pace from simply serving a soft treat in a bowl. The idea is to keep a pet occupied by encouraging licking, rather than chewing.

It may suit you if your pet enjoys soft foods and you want a mat for supervised, short activities. The listing includes one mat and one spatula.

Technical details

The mat is made from food-grade silicone and is described as BPA-free, heat-resistant, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. It has four textured surfaces for spreadable foods such as yoghurt, cream cheese or peanut butter. The reverse has 77 suction cups, and the square mat measures 20 × 20 cm.

Those details make it a practical format for preparing a small treat and cleaning up afterwards. The suction cups are intended to attach to surfaces including walls, glass and refrigerators, but their grip depends on the surface: the product information says smoother surfaces hold more securely than rough ones.

Getting the most from it

Spread a suitable soft treat over the textured sections, then press the mat onto a smooth surface if you want to keep it in place. For example, during a bath, you could attach it to a smooth area within reach and let your pet lick while you focus on washing. It is also presented for grooming, nail trimming and other potentially stressful situations.

This is a distraction aid, not a solution for every cause of anxiety or boredom. Keep your pet supervised while using it, the maker specifically says the mat is not a chew toy. If your pet tends to bite or pull at objects, that limitation matters more than the promise of a longer feeding session.

Usage tips

After use, soak the mat in warm soapy water, brush away any food left in the textures and rinse. It can also go in the dishwasher, according to the listing. If you rely on the suction cups, choose a smooth contact area and make sure the surface is clean before attaching the mat, a rough surface can reduce the hold.

You can use the included spatula to spread treats across the textured sections. Keep the portion appropriate for your pet, since the listing does not specify serving sizes or which foods suit individual dietary needs. Given how it is designed, the mat is most useful when you can supervise and stay nearby, rather than as something to leave with a pet unattended.

Before you decide

Can it be used during a bath or grooming? Yes. It is intended as a distraction during bathing, grooming and nail trimming, and can attach to smooth surfaces. Grip may be weaker on rough surfaces.

Is it suitable for cats as well as dogs? The product is described for both cats and dogs, including puppies. It is a 20 × 20 cm square mat with four textured sections.

Can it go in the dishwasher? Yes, the listing says it is dishwasher-safe. It also suggests washing by hand with warm soapy water and a brush.

Before you buy

It may interest you if you want a reusable-looking treat activity for supervised grooming or bath time, with textured sections and suction cups rather than a basic flat feeding surface. A more demanding pet may need closer attention: this is not a chew toy, and the suction hold is less dependable on rough surfaces. It may not be a fit if you need an unattended toy or a mat that grips reliably on every kind of wall.
