Silicone Pet Feeding Mats, 48 cm × 30 cm

Technical details

A feeding area can get messy quickly when a pet nudges a bowl or splashes water. These green silicone mats are intended to sit beneath food and water dishes, helping catch spills before they reach the floor. The pack includes two mats, each measuring 48 cm × 30 cm.

Their raised outer border is designed to contain food and water on the mat. Silicone is flexible, so a mat can be rolled up for storage or packed for a picnic or trip. I haven’t tried it, so claims about how well it contains a particular spill should be treated as design intent rather than a guarantee.

What it works with

The stated uses include bowls, water dishes, pet fountains, automatic feeders and feeding stations. The size is described as suitable for small and medium dogs or cats, as well as smaller pets such as rabbits and hamsters. Match the mat to the footprint of your setup: a large feeder or widely spaced bowls may extend beyond its edges.

It is a good fit if you want a washable layer under a compact feeding station rather than a larger floor-covering mat. For example, it can sit under a cat’s food and water bowls near the kitchen wall, collecting drips in one spot that can be wiped down. The product description also mentions use beneath umbrellas or wet shoes, though pet feeding is its main purpose.

Usage tips

Place the mat on a flat area and centre bowls or dishes on it, leaving room around them for the raised edge to do its job. After feeding, rinse it in the sink, wash it with water, wipe it with a damp cloth or put it in the dishwasher, according to the cleaning options listed. Let it dry before rolling it away for storage or taking it along on an outing.

The two-piece pack can be useful if you want one mat at home and another elsewhere, or if you prefer to keep a spare while the other is being cleaned. That flexibility is different from choosing one oversized mat to cover a broader feeding area, these are more suited to separate, smaller setups.

Before you decide

How many mats are included? The package contains two green silicone mats.

Can they be cleaned in a dishwasher? Dishwasher cleaning is listed, along with rinsing in a sink and wiping with a damp cloth.

Are they intended for larger dogs? The stated size suitability is for small and medium dogs or cats, plus smaller pets. The listing does not establish a fit for larger feeding stations.

Before buying

The useful detail here is the combination of a raised border, flexible silicone and a compact 48 cm × 30 cm size. It may suit a tidy bowl station that needs a washable catch layer, and the second mat gives you another one to use or store. Measure the area occupied by your bowls or feeder before choosing: the main limitation is that this mat may not cover a wide setup or contain spills that travel beyond its edge. It may not be the best fit if you need a large, continuous floor protector or a mat sized for a larger feeding station.
