Amico A18AX011212009CA 4-Inch Black Recessed LED Pot Lights, 5CCT, Night Light

Choosing recessed lighting can mean settling on one colour temperature, or looking for a fixture that adapts to different moments in the same room. This Amico 12-pack combines a selectable five-temperature downlight with a separate amber night-light mode, giving you more than one way to light a space from a slim, black ceiling fixture.

Each light is rated at 10W and 700 lumens, and the downlight is dimmable. Set the preferred colour temperature before installing: choose 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K to suit the room and the atmosphere you want.

Highlights

The selectable 5CCT setting is useful when you want warm-toned light in a bedroom or living room and a different tone in a kitchen, bathroom or workspace. Setting the colour temperature before fitting the lights makes it easier to coordinate the lighting with the room. The 4-inch black trim gives the recessed fixture a defined look against the ceiling, while its downlight design directs illumination into the space below.

For a softer option after dark, switch to the night-light mode, which emits a 2000K amber glow. It can provide low-glare illumination when getting up at night, or a gentler backdrop while watching a film. Prefer one fixture for everyday room lighting and a softer glow for nighttime? This two-mode design accommodates both. The downlight can also be dimmed, so you can adjust its brightness for the task or time of day.

The lights are IC-rated, which means they are permitted to be in contact with ceiling insulation, and are ETL-certified. Their canless design is intended for installation without a recessed can and uses a junction box. Buyers often praise the appearance, illumination, dimming and night-light function, some find the warm ring’s glow subtle. The set includes 12 lights, making it practical to plan consistent recessed lighting across a larger area or several rooms.

Everyday use

Use the main downlight for regular room illumination, then select the amber night-light mode when you want a softer glow without the full brightness of the main light. The listed applications include kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, meeting rooms and other indoor spaces. With 700 lumens per light, the fixtures can be planned as part of a multi-light ceiling layout, their dimmable output adds flexibility once the room is in use.

How to use it

Choose one of the five colour temperatures before installing each light in the ceiling. The fixtures are designed for flush mounting and canless installation, with a junction box for the electrical connection. They operate on 120 volts. The manufacturer states that the synchronization reset function helps restore the lights to downlight mode if they become out of sync after installation: turn the light off for five seconds, then turn it on again. The set is backed by a five-year manufacturer warranty.

Should you buy it?

A solid pick if you want a coordinated set of black, 4-inch recessed lights with more flexibility than a fixed-colour-temperature fixture. The choice of five downlight tones, dimming and a dedicated 2000K amber night-light mode gives the 12-light set practical uses from everyday room lighting to gentler illumination after dark. Its canless, IC-rated design is especially relevant when planning recessed fixtures in an insulated ceiling.
