Customer feedback highlights the engaging story and its characters, with particular appreciation for a feisty heroine and lively banter. Listeners also describe the romance as passionate and the plot as flowing well, some find the plot unusual. Usage tips
At 9 hours and 43 minutes, the audiobook is well suited to being enjoyed in portions rather than needing to fit into one sitting. Its unabridged presentation preserves the complete story in audio, and Mary Jane Wells is the credited narrator throughout. For a practical listening plan, choose sessions that fit your routine and continue with the next portion when you have time, the listed runtime gives you a clear sense of the commitment involved.
As the opening book in a three-book series, it offers a straightforward starting point for listeners who want to follow the series from the beginning. Those choosing between a narrated version and a text edition can base the decision on how they prefer to experience a longer romance: through a spoken performance or by reading at their own pace. Worth considering if you enjoy historical romance with comedy, spirited character exchanges and a full-length audiobook format.
Final verdict
Always Be My Duchess brings together an unabridged presentation, a credited narrator and a clearly identified place at the start of the Taming of the Dukes series. The combination of character-focused appeal and a 9-hour-and-43-minute runtime gives romance fans a defined listening experience to fit around their usual routine.
