Zedkeys Soft Pet Carrier 16 lb

Three-sided breathable mesh gives your pet airflow while letting you check on them without opening the carrier. The Zedkeys soft pet carrier also has a steel rod frame to help it hold its shape, plus an internal safety leash and reinforced zippers for added containment. At 17 x 11 x 11 inches, it’s designed for cats, small dogs, and puppies weighing up to 16 lb, with a removable washable cushion for everyday trips. It makes sense if you want one carrier for vet visits, car rides, and travel, the stated airline fit is useful, but airline requirements can vary.

What to know

This carrier is made from lightweight, waterproof, scratch-resistant Oxford fabric, with reinforced mesh on three sides for ventilation and visibility. The frame is intended to prevent the soft sides from collapsing, while an internal leash helps keep a pet from slipping out when the carrier is opened. A side pocket gives you a place for small supplies, and the carrier can be folded flat for storage when it’s not in use.

Keep in mind that the 16 lb limit doesn’t guarantee a comfortable fit for every pet under that weight. Compare your pet’s resting dimensions with the carrier’s 17 x 11 x 11 inches, weight alone can’t confirm the fit without that measurement. The description says it meets airline under-seat requirements, but that doesn’t establish acceptance on every flight, so check the rules for your specific trip before relying on it.

Maintenance

The plush cushion is removable and machine washable, which makes routine cleanup easier after a muddy walk or a visit to the vet. The fabric is described as waterproof, but no cleaning instructions for the carrier itself are provided. For care beyond washing the cushion, follow any instructions supplied with the product rather than assuming the whole carrier is machine washable.

Practical tips

For a vet appointment, pack a few small supplies in the side pocket and use the shoulder strap to keep your hands free on the way in. You can also carry it by the handle, or use the adjustable padded strap when a longer walk makes shoulder carrying more convenient. The strap can serve as a belt to secure the carrier to a car seat or luggage, that feature is for securing the carrier, not a stated crash-protection system.

Not the best choice if your pet exceeds the stated weight limit, needs more room than the listed dimensions allow, or you need a carrier with confirmed airline acceptance for a particular route. A rigid carrier may make more sense if your priority is a hard-sided structure rather than a foldable design.

Practical doubts

Can the cushion be washed? Yes. It is removable and described as machine washable, the carrier itself is not listed as machine washable.

How can you carry it? It has a handle and an adjustable, wide padded shoulder strap. The strap can also secure the carrier to a car seat or luggage.

Is it intended for air travel? The listing describes it as suitable for under-seat airline use. Check your airline’s current requirements before traveling, since the product details do not confirm acceptance on every flight.

Buying verdict

Choose this Zedkeys carrier if you want a breathable, foldable soft-sided option for a cat or small dog within the stated 16 lb limit, and value a washable cushion and two carrying methods. Its useful extras make it more travel-oriented than a basic tote, but the listed weight and dimensions still need to suit your pet, and airline approval should be verified for your trip. If either fit or flight acceptance is uncertain, a different carrier with dimensions or approval that better matches your needs is the safer buying decision.
