Everyday use
A soft, breathable mesh lining and cushioned neck edging help make this recovery collar more comfortable to wear during healing. The flexible PVC outer layer creates a protective barrier to help discourage licking or scratching at surgical incisions, wounds, hot spots, and irritated skin. Its waterproof surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, making everyday care straightforward.
Compared with a rigid plastic cone, this flexible design offers a softer feel and helps reduce harsh contact with furniture. It can be useful after a spay or neuter procedure, or when a dog needs a barrier around a sensitive area at home. The cone should extend beyond the tip of your dog’s nose to help prevent access to the affected area, so use both neck circumference and neck-to-nose length when choosing a size.
Hook-and-loop fastening and a drawstring stopper let you adjust the fit, while an attachment for your dog’s regular collar adds another way to help keep the cone in place. Before the first wear, unpack it and lay it flat. Give your dog time to get familiar with the collar under supervision. Keeping hair and debris clear of the hook-and-loop closure helps it fasten properly.
Box contents
The package contains one Vithael dog cone in Blue Grey, size L.
Before you decide
How should I choose the size? Measure your dog’s neck circumference and the distance from the base of the neck to the tip of the nose. For size L, the listed neck circumference is 15.4–17.3 inches and the cone depth is 11.6 inches. Choose a fit that lets the cone extend beyond the nose, if your dog is near the upper end of the size range, the sizing guidance recommends the next size up.
How does the collar help stay in place? Adjust the hook-and-loop closure and drawstring stopper for a secure fit without excessive pressure. You can also thread your dog’s regular collar through the cone’s collar attachment for added security.
How do I clean and maintain it? Wipe the waterproof PVC exterior with a damp cloth or paper towel. Remove hair and debris from the hook-and-loop fastening with a soft brush or lint roller to help keep it working properly.
Is it worth it?
For recovery care that calls for a protective barrier without the feel of a rigid plastic cone, the Vithael L combines a breathable inner layer, soft edging, and an adjustable closure. Its wipe-clean exterior and collar attachment add practical details for home use, while the size measurements help guide selection for post-surgery care or protection from licking and scratching at irritated skin.
