Utopia Bedding UB2453 King Mattress Pad, Quilted, 16-Inch Deep Pocket, Black

Sized for a King mattress measuring 78 by 80 inches, this black Utopia Bedding pad adds a soft, quilted layer to the bed. Its polyester microfiber fabric and fiberfill give the top a padded feel, while the fitted design accommodates mattresses up to 16 inches deep.

An elastic edge all around helps hold the pad in position. Machine-washable care makes it practical for regular home use or a guest room.

Everyday use

Use this mattress pad as a comfortable layer between the mattress and your sheets. The quilted top adds softness and loft without changing the bed’s size, and the fitted construction pulls over the mattress to help keep the pad aligned during everyday use. Its black color offers a distinct look when the bedding is being changed or the mattress is used in a guest space.

For a king bed that needs a softer sleeping surface, the padded cover serves a different purpose than a waterproof barrier: it adds a quilted comfort layer, while spill protection calls for a separate waterproof cover. The product is described as breathable and noiseless, making it suited to a bed where a soft, quiet-feeling cover is preferred.

Strengths

The practical advantage is the combination of a quilted, fiberfill top and an elastic fitted edge. The padding adds a soft layer, and the elastic around the mattress helps keep the cover in place rather than leaving it loose across the bed. A 16-inch pocket depth gives it a defined fit range for king mattresses.

Buyers often describe the pad as soft and comfortable, and many appreciate how it fits and stays in place. Feedback on thickness is mixed: some find the padding comfortable, while others would prefer a thicker layer. Opinions on durability also vary, with both reports of it holding up and comments about seams coming apart. These experiences can help set expectations, while the stated construction and care instructions remain the clearest guide to using the pad.

What to know

The pad is made from polyester microfiber and has a pull-on fitted closure. It is machine washable, tumble dry with no heat and do not use bleach. This is a mattress pad, not a liquid-proof protector, so pair it with a separate waterproof cover when protection from spills is needed. Its intended size is King, measuring 78 by 80 inches, and it fits mattresses up to 16 inches deep.

When it makes sense

It makes sense if you want a fitted, quilted layer for a King mattress and value a soft top with an elastic edge to help keep it in position. Choose it for added softness and fitted coverage, and use a separate waterproof layer when liquid protection is part of the bedding setup.
