Taranta Aluminum Step Stool

For anyone who needs a little extra reach around the house or office, this two-step stool keeps everyday tasks within easier reach without taking up much room when stored.

The aluminum frame weighs 6.2 lb, so moving it from the kitchen to a closet is a manageable part of the job.

It folds nearly flat for storage. Its top step reaches 17.72 inches, which sets a clear boundary: this is a compact step stool, not a tall ladder for high-up work.

Size & fit

Fully open, it measures 20 × 18.1 × 24 inches. Folded, it measures 25.98 × 18.1 × 1.97 inches, so it can slide into a narrow closet or behind furniture where a bulky step ladder might be awkward to keep. No installation is required, and the frame is designed to open and fold in seconds.

The two steps are spaced 9 inches apart. That gives you a simple climbing layout for routine indoor jobs, such as reaching a kitchen shelf or changing an item stored just above shoulder height. The top step reaches 17.72 inches, if the task requires substantial extra height, a taller ladder is the more appropriate choice. Who wants a full-size ladder taking up closet space for a quick, low-reach task? This folding format is aimed at the opposite situation.

Pros

The broad aluminum steps have a textured surface intended to improve grip, while rubber-capped feet are designed to help limit movement and protect floors from scratches. Side stabilizing bars are part of the frame, and the listed weight capacity is 330 lb. Those details make it more considered than a bare, narrow step platform for frequent household use, though they do not replace placing it on a stable, level surface and climbing carefully.

Its main practical advantage is the combination of a usable two-step layout and slim folded dimensions. You’ll appreciate it if you want a stool that can be brought out for a quick task and tucked away afterward. The tradeoff is built into the compact design: with only two steps and a 17.72-inch top-step height, it is not intended for reaching high ceilings or tackling demanding ladder work.

When it makes sense

Choose this style if your usual need is modest extra reach, and storage space matters as much as having a step ready to use. Picture pulling it from behind a door to reach a kitchen cabinet, then folding it away once the item is back on the counter. The light weight and flat-folding shape suit that kind of occasional, repeatable indoor task better than keeping a larger ladder close at hand.

Better avoided if you need a high-reaching ladder, a larger working platform, or equipment for tasks beyond everyday household or office use. The product details do not specify a separate locking mechanism, so avoid assuming features beyond the stated frame design and use it only when fully opened and positioned securely.
