TaddToy YJ-801 16-Bit Handheld Game, 3-Inch LCD, 230 Games & 3 Cartridges

The 3-inch color LCD gives the TaddToy YJ-801 a clear, portable screen for retro-style gaming at home or on the go. It comes preloaded with 230 games across genres such as puzzles, sports, racing, action, strategy, and adventure, so kids can switch between different kinds of play on one handheld device.

Three individual game cartridges add another way to play. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery supports up to five hours of play after a full charge, and the console charges through a Micro USB interface.

Highlights

With built-in games and separate cartridges, this handheld offers more variety than a device centered on a single game. Which kind of play fits the moment? A puzzle or logic game can suit a quiet break, while racing and action games bring a different pace. The range also makes it easy to pass the console between family members with different gaming interests.

The button controls keep play straightforward, and the handheld format is convenient for a car ride, a trip, or downtime at home. The manufacturer recommends it for ages 4–12. Buyers often praise the game selection and find the system enjoyable for young children, feedback about ease of use, operation, and battery performance is mixed.

Size & fit

The console measures 6.5 x 2.9 x 0.8 inches, with a 3-inch screen. Its compact handheld shape makes it easy to carry in a travel bag or hold during a break, without setting up a larger gaming system. The blue plastic body gives the console a distinct retro look, and the LCD display presents its games in color.

For a child’s travel activity, the built-in selection means there are several game styles to try without changing the main device. The three cartridges offer additional classic games, when inserting one, face the side without the picture inward.

Practical tips

Fully charge the console before its first use. The rechargeable battery is listed for five hours of play after a full charge, and the USB connection makes charging part of the usual travel or home setup. The package includes a USB cable, user manual, battery, console, and three game cards.

To browse the preloaded titles, open the MINI GAME icon from the main menu. Game progress cannot be saved, so each session is best approached as a pick-up-and-play activity rather than a game to continue later. A protective film covers the screen and can be peeled away before play.

Practical questions

What kinds of games are included? The built-in collection includes puzzle, logic and math, sports, racing, action, fighting, strategy, adventure, shooting, arcade, and card games. The console also comes with three individual game cartridges.

How do I insert a game cartridge? Insert it with the side without the picture facing inward. The built-in games can also be accessed from the MINI GAME icon in the main menu.

Can game progress be saved? No. The console does not save game progress, so a game session starts fresh rather than resuming from a previous point.

Is it worth it?

For families looking for a compact, ready-to-play gaming activity, the YJ-801 brings together a color screen, a broad selection of built-in retro games, and three cartridges in one handheld. Its mix of game styles suits short play sessions at home or during travel, while the rechargeable battery avoids relying on disposable batteries. It’s a practical fit for kids ages 4–12 who enjoy trying different classic-style games on a portable console.
