Sweese Double-Wall Glass Coffee Mugs, 12.5 oz

Key points

For coffee and tea drinkers who like seeing the color and layers of a drink, these Sweese mugs pair a clear, double-wall design with a 12.5-ounce capacity per mug. The set includes two mouth-blown borosilicate glass mugs. The glass is described as lead-free, and the insulating gap between the walls is intended to help drinks stay hot or cold longer than in standard single-wall glass or ceramic mugs, while keeping the outside comfortable to hold.

The floating-drink effect is more than a visual detail: it makes a layered latte or a freshly poured tea look at home on the table, without an opaque ceramic wall hiding it. Each mug holds 12.5 ounces to the rim, so the usable fill amount will be less. Keep that distinction in mind if you usually pour large servings or leave room for milk and foam.

How to use it

These mugs are listed as microwave- and dishwasher-safe, which makes them practical for a quick reheat or routine cleanup. Their capacity is suited to espresso, tea, coffee, lattes, and mochas, and the description notes that they can pair with espresso machines or coffee makers. For a simple morning routine, pour a shot into the glass, add steamed milk, and let the layers show before stirring. They can also work for iced drinks when you want the contents visible, the double wall is described as helping with both hot and cold beverages.

The base has a small round hole that is sealed to keep water out. It is included to let the glass breathe as temperatures change and to help prevent bursting during use. That detail is worth knowing if you are used to solid-bottom glassware, but the supplied description does not give a separate care routine or explain what to do if the seal is damaged.

Practical tips

Treat these as glass mugs, not as a substitute for a heavy ceramic cup. The double wall can make the exterior more comfortable to hold, but it does not make the glass unbreakable. Set the mug down thoughtfully and avoid assuming that insulation means it can take knocks. The product description calls the borosilicate glass durable, but provides no impact rating or dimensions, so shoppers who need a particularly rugged everyday cup have limited information to go on.

For a latte, the clear walls make it easy to judge how much milk or foam you have added, for plain coffee, they keep the look minimal while showing the drink. It suits you if presentation and a lighter-looking glass mug matter as much as everyday use. You may want to skip it if you prefer opaque, sturdy-feeling mugs or need a confirmed capacity below the rim. The gift box packaging may also make the pair suitable for a housewarming or other occasion, though the packaging does not change the care needs of glass.

Questions before you buy

How many mugs are included? The product is sold as a set of two.

Can they go in the microwave and dishwasher? The description says they are safe for both, which is useful for reheating and regular cleanup.

What is the small hole on the bottom? It is described as sealed and designed to let the glass breathe during temperature changes while keeping water out.

Should you buy it?

These Sweese mugs make sense if you want a two-piece set for coffee, espresso, tea, or milk-based drinks and appreciate seeing the drink through clear double-wall glass. Compared with choosing a basic single-wall glass mug, the insulated construction is the main difference, compared with choosing ceramic, the appeal is the visible drink and lighter glass presentation rather than an opaque, solid feel. The tradeoff is that the product information does not establish impact resistance or give dimensions, and the stated capacity is measured to the rim. Choose this set for the look and insulated format, but choose another style if durability details or a precisely specified fill capacity are central to your decision.
