Suhaco Cat Litter Box, Extra Large

Quick overview

When stepping over a tall litter-box edge becomes difficult, or a kitten is still learning where to go, an easier entrance can make the daily routine less awkward. The Suhaco low-entry litter box pairs an 8 cm entry with a roomy, open tray, so cats can walk in rather than climb over a high wall. Its sides are designed to help contain litter, while the open top keeps the contents easy to see and the tray straightforward to access for cleaning. It’s a practical alternative to an enclosed box if easy entry and visibility matter more than a covered design.

The tray measures 23.6 x 15.7 x 6.3 inches and is made from thickened PP. The listing also describes anti-splash pedals and a smooth surface that can be wiped clean. Those details point toward less fuss during routine scooping, though the open design won’t contain smells in the same way a covered box might.

Quick sizing guide

The stated footprint gives cats room to turn and dig, including larger cats, but it also means the tray needs a suitable spot indoors. Measure the floor area where you plan to place it, leaving enough room for your cat to approach the low entry without having to squeeze past nearby objects. The listing gives an 8 cm entry and describes the sides as 15 cm deep, so there is a trade-off: easier access at the front, with raised walls intended to help limit scatter elsewhere.

Keep in mind that the low entrance is helpful for stepping in, but it can also make placement more important if your cat tends to kick litter toward the opening. The box is open on top, so it won’t provide the privacy or full enclosure some cats and households prefer.

Tips for day-to-day use

Place the entrance where your cat can reach it without navigating around clutter. In a typical routine, that might mean setting the box against a wall, then checking after your cat digs whether litter is escaping through the entry or collecting around the sides. The anti-splash pedals are intended to reduce tracking, but they won’t eliminate the need to sweep around the box.

The smooth surface is described as easy to wipe, and the open top makes it simple to check the tray while scooping. From the way it is set up, this is a more accessible and visible option than a covered pan, not a sealed solution for odor control. The listing says the PP material can bear 25 pounds, but doesn’t provide details about replacement parts or how the tray performs over long-term use.

Practical doubts

Is it suitable for an older cat? The 8 cm entry is designed to make getting in easier for senior cats and pets with mobility challenges. Whether it works for a particular cat depends on how comfortably they can step over that edge.

Does it have a lid? No lid is described. It has an open-top design, which makes the litter easy to access but offers less concealment than an enclosed box.

Is it easy to clean? The listing describes a smooth surface that can be wiped down. Its open layout also makes the inside easy to reach during routine scooping.

When it makes sense

It makes sense if your priority is a roomy tray with an easier entrance for a kitten, an older cat, or a pet that has trouble stepping into a taller box. You may want to skip it if you need a covered litter area, want stronger odor containment, or have limited floor space. For those needs, a more enclosed or compact style may be a better fit, choose this Suhaco tray when straightforward access and an open, visible setup are the more useful trade-offs.
