The bricks are washed and screened to remove traces of fiber, sand, and rocks. Once hydrated, the coir can be broken apart and mixed into soil or used in seed-starting mixes. Its moisture-retaining qualities help keep planting media hydrated, while improved aeration and drainage help reduce compaction around roots. The product information also notes a neutral pH and high cation exchange capacity, supporting nutrient uptake in a blend.

Everyday use

For a container garden, hydrate a brick, break up the expanded coir, and mix it with potting soil before filling pots or planters. The same approach works when preparing a seed-starting mix or refreshing soil for indoor plants. Because it can be blended into existing potting media, coco coir suits gardeners who want to adjust a mix rather than use a single standalone growing medium.

How does it compare with reaching for peat moss? Coco Bliss is made from renewable coconut husks, making it a practical choice for gardeners looking for a plant-based alternative. It also adds moisture retention and structure to mixes used in greenhouses, herb gardens, and outdoor containers. Buyer feedback often highlights easy hydration, moisture retention, and usefulness in container gardening, comments on brick dimensions are mixed, with some buyers noting variation.
