NICREW 81513 2.5-Gallon Nano Aquarium Kit with Rimless Glass, Light & Filter

The ultra-clear, rimless low-iron glass brings an aquascape into view from a compact desktop footprint, while the included light and filter give your setup a practical starting point. This complete black 2.5-gallon kit also comes with gravel, rock, a lid, a leveling mat, and a starter guide.

Designed for indoor use, it suits a desktop or countertop display where a small aquarium can add a natural focal point.

Highlights

The glass has a stated 91.2% light transmittance, helping plants, fish, and the arrangement of gravel and rock remain easy to see. Its rimless design keeps the view open, and the rectangular shape makes it straightforward to position as part of a home or office setup. The black finish adds a clean, modern look.

This is the Complete Kit version: it includes a Slim Aquarium Filter and Nano Clip-on LED, along with gravel and rock. Compared with building a setup by sourcing those elements separately, having the core display components and selected hardscape together gives beginners a clear place to start. The manufacturer’s starter guide is tailored to new aquarium owners and explains how to use the supplied materials for a nature aquarium. A lid and pre-glued leveling mat are also included.

Buyer feedback often highlights the compact desktop size and appearance, with some customers saying the aquarium fits their decor well. Buyers also describe setup as straightforward and appreciate the included light and filter. These are individual impressions, but they give a useful sense of why the all-in-one format appeals to people starting a small display.

Size & fit

The tank measures 11.8 inches long by 6.3 inches wide by 8.66 inches high, with a 2.5-gallon capacity. Those dimensions make it easy to plan for a desktop or countertop before setting up the aquarium. Its rectangular shape provides a defined area for arranging the included gravel and rock, while the clear glass keeps the interior visible from the sides.

Tips for day-to-day use

Choose a suitable indoor location with enough room for the tank’s footprint and access to its top. The included lid and leveling mat are part of the ready-to-use kit, follow the starter guide when arranging the gravel and rock and setting up the filter and light. The light and filtration are useful built-in components for a planted nature-aquarium display, while the glass gives you a clear view of how the layout develops. For routine care, follow aquarium guidance appropriate to the fish and plants you keep rather than treating the filter as a replacement for regular maintenance.

Is it worth it?

The main advantage is getting a coordinated nano aquarium setup rather than choosing a tank, light, filter, and hardscape one piece at a time. That makes this version especially convenient for someone who wants to begin with a compact indoor display and appreciates having gravel, rock, and a beginner-oriented guide included. The low-iron rimless glass, 2.5-gallon size, and black finish also make the tank a distinct choice for a small home or office aquascape. A solid pick if you want the core setup pieces together in a tidy desktop aquarium kit.
