Getting the most from it

At 28 x 20 inches, this rectangular stove cover gives an electric or glass cooktop a decorative layer when it is not in use. Its purple lavender butterfly design brings color to the kitchen, while the thick natural rubber base helps protect the surface from scratches and spills and provides a non-slip grip.

Use the covered stovetop as extra counter space for meal prep, serving, or keeping kitchen essentials organized. Need a mat that can move beyond the cooktop? Its lightweight, foldable design also makes it easy to store between tasks, and the cover can be used as a sink drain mat, countertop protector, placemat for hot dishes, or pet food mat. The listed heat resistance is up to 400°F, however, remove it before turning on the electric range.

Why it’s worth it

A dedicated stove cover focuses on protecting the cooktop, while this mat can also support everyday kitchen tasks elsewhere. Use it to create a temporary work surface when the range is off, then move it to the sink for draining or onto the counter to protect the work area during meal prep. That versatility makes it a practical choice for kitchens where useful surfaces are at a premium.

The rubber base is designed to help keep the mat stable and reduce accidental shifting, while also helping shield the stovetop from cookware-related scratches and spills. What could be more useful than adding counter space without giving up the cooktop’s everyday role? Simply lift the cover before cooking, and use it again once the electric range is off and the surface is ready for a cover.

Questions before you buy

What size is the cover? It measures 28 x 20 x 1 inches and has a rectangular shape. Compare those dimensions with your cooktop to see how the cover will sit on the surface.

Can it stay on the stove while the range is on? No. Do not place the cover on the electric range while it is on. The 400°F heat-resistance rating does not change that use instruction.

Can it be used for tasks beyond covering a stove? Yes. It can also serve as a sink drain mat, countertop protector, placemat for hot dishes, or pet food mat. It folds for storage when not in use.

Is it worth it?

For a kitchen that could use both cooktop protection and a flexible extra surface, this 28 x 20-inch butterfly mat combines a non-slip natural rubber base with several practical uses around the room. It is especially useful when the electric or glass stovetop is off and you want a decorative cover that can also move between meal prep, serving, and sink-side tasks.
