Lormandy S2 orange Water Filter Straw, 1,300-Gallon Capacity, Lightweight ABS

Some outdoor plans call for a compact way to filter water at the source, others are better served by carrying water that is already ready to drink. The Lormandy S2 orange is a personal filter straw designed for the first approach.

At 1.8 ounces and 8 inches long, it is easy to pack for hiking, camping, fishing, and emergency preparedness. Its hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane provides a portable way to filter water from freshwater sources.

Drink through the straw directly from a source, connect it to a bottle with a compatible 28 mm threaded opening, or use the supplied silicone tube for a gravity-fed setup. The included syringe supports backflushing after use.

Getting the most from it

For a quick drink outdoors, place the filter inlet in a freshwater source and sip through the top. It can also be paired with a compatible threaded bottle, letting you draw water through the filter as you drink. For a gravity-fed arrangement, connect the silicone tube to the filter and allow water to pass through. These options make it easier to choose a setup that suits the water source and the way you prefer to carry or drink water.

After use, backflush the filter with the included syringe to clear collected particles and help maintain water flow. Blow air through the inlet to help prevent clogging, then let the filter dry thoroughly before storing it in a dry place. Following these steps makes the straw practical to reuse on ongoing trips and to keep with preparedness supplies.

What you’ll notice day to day

The compact format is useful when space and carried weight matter. Keep it in a backpack pocket or emergency kit, or attach it to gear with the included carabiner. Instead of relying only on water carried from home, this filter offers a way to process freshwater at the source during a hike, camping trip, or travel disruption. Use it with freshwater sources such as streams, rivers, or lakes, and follow the cleaning steps after use.

Buyer feedback often highlights the small size, portability, and straightforward setup as useful for travel and emergency kits. Opinions on filtration effectiveness are mixed, so the clearest practical advantage is having a lightweight, reusable filter option with multiple ways to connect and drink.
