LEPOWER Clip-On Reading Light, 400 Lumens, RG0 Lighting, Dimmable Amber Glow

At 5"D x 3.07"W x 17.3"H, the LEPOWER Clip-On Light is a compact reading lamp with a gooseneck arm and a clamp designed for edges up to 2.3 inches thick. Its listed weight is 15.68 ounces, so placement and the surface you attach it to are practical considerations alongside its light settings.

For reading in bed, the combination of adjustable brightness and color temperature gives you more control than a basic fixed-output clip lamp. The amber setting is intended for softer nighttime light, while the brighter settings suit focused reading or desk tasks.

The essentials

The lamp offers five brightness levels plus stepless dimming, with output listed from 6 to 400 lumens. Its five color temperatures span 1800K to 6000K, from warm amber to a cooler, daylight-style setting. That range makes it possible to change the feel of the light for a book, study session, or late-night bedside use without relying on a separate room light.

A 360-degree flexible gooseneck lets you direct the beam, and the product listing describes the lighting as RG0, flicker-free, and rated at 93+ for color rendering. Those details may matter if you want a more focused light source rather than an overhead lamp that illuminates the whole room. A built-in timer offers 20-, 40-, or 60-minute shutoff options, and saved brightness and color settings are intended to make a preferred setup quicker to select.

Buyer feedback is positive about the adjustable light and the ability to keep illumination localized. Experiences with the clip and flexible neck are less uniform: some buyers find the lamp holds its position, while others report that the arm can be difficult to keep where they place it. That difference is worth bearing in mind if precise positioning is important to you.

Quick sizing guide

The clamp is specified for surfaces up to 2.3 inches thick, which helps when deciding whether it can attach to a headboard, desk, or bunk bed. Check the edge you plan to use against that limit, the listed maximum does not establish that every surface shape will be a suitable fit. The 17.3-inch height and 360-degree neck give you room to position the light, but the lamp still needs an edge it can grip.

Worth considering if you want a clip-mounted light for a book or a focused desk task and expect to adjust brightness and warmth. Compared with a freestanding bedside lamp, this design saves space on the surface by attaching to an edge.

Practical tips

Attach the clamp to a stable edge within its stated size range, then position the neck so the light falls on the page or work area rather than directly toward your eyes. What if you want a softer setup before bed? The warm amber option and dimming controls provide an alternative to using the brightest setting, while the timer can be set for a listed interval.

The controls and flexible arm are central to how this lamp is used, so feedback about neck stability is relevant rather than incidental. If you prefer an arm that stays rigid with minimal adjustment, It's not for you if that uncertainty would be a dealbreaker, a lamp with a fixed position may better match that preference. The product listing also identifies an E26 medium bulb base, but does not provide further detail here on how that specification relates to the clip-on setup.

Final verdict

This LEPOWER light is most compelling for readers who want adjustable, directed illumination at a bed, desk, or similar edge, with several color temperatures and a built-in timer. Its 400-lumen maximum gives it a brighter setting for focused tasks, while the amber option supports a softer nighttime setup. The main tradeoff in the available information is mixed feedback about whether the flexible neck consistently holds its position. Choose it for the clamp format and range of light controls, consider a different mounting style if dependable arm positioning matters more than saving surface space.
