Lekereise BP-21059 Expandable Pet Carrier Backpack with Mesh Panels and Safety Leash

For cat and small-dog owners who need a hands-free carrier with room to expand, the Lekereise BP-21059 combines a backpack format with an expandable compartment. Its listed maximum weight recommendation is 13 pounds, so check your pet’s weight and space needs before choosing it.

The back section expands to give a pet more room during an outing, then the carrier can be collapsed for storage when it is not in use. That makes it relevant for people balancing extra room on the go with a more compact bag at home.

Multiple mesh panels provide ventilation and visibility, and the top can be opened so a pet can put its head out. The design also includes adjustable shoulder straps, a chest buckle, side pockets, and an inner safety leash.

Who it’s for

This backpack is intended for cats, small dogs, and other small animals within the stated weight recommendation. Its listed uses include walking, hiking, camping, and travel. It makes sense if you want to carry a small pet on your back and value the option to expand the compartment rather than use a fixed-size carrier. For a trip where the carrier will be worn, the adjustable straps and chest buckle are practical details, for a car ride, the product information lists car compatibility, though it does not describe a specific restraint system.

Buyers have praised its appearance and portability, and some appreciate having extra room for their pets. Feedback is less consistent on comfort and stability: some find it easy to carry, while others say it presses into the lower back or that the base lacks support. Zipper experiences are also mixed. Those points matter if you expect to wear the carrier for long stretches or need a particularly firm floor for your pet.

What you’ll notice day to day

The expandable back is the main difference from a basic, fixed-volume backpack carrier: it gives your pet more space when opened, while the collapsible design helps reduce storage bulk afterward. Mesh on the front, top, and sides supports airflow and lets you check on your pet without opening the carrier. The top opening offers another way for a pet to look out, but use the built-in leash as intended to help prevent an escape.

The polyester body and anti-scratch mesh are described as the carrier’s materials. The product details do not specify a rigid base or a particular support structure, and buyer feedback on bottom support is mixed. If a stable, firm floor is a priority, that is worth weighing against the benefit of a backpack that can expand and fold down. Some buyers mention carrying it for air travel, but airline acceptance or cabin dimensions are not specified here, so portability should not be taken as airline approval.

What to clarify

What are the listed dimensions? The expanded carrier measures 21.7 x 13 x 15 inches, unexpanded, it measures 13 x 9.8 x 15 inches.

How is a pet secured inside? The carrier has an inner safety leash. Mesh panels provide visibility and ventilation, and the top can open for a pet to put its head out.

Is it confirmed for airline use? No airline approval or airline-specific sizing is provided. Check the carrier dimensions against the rules for your intended trip before relying on it for air travel.

Final verdict

The BP-21059 is worth considering when you want a wearable carrier with an expandable section, mesh visibility, and a foldable form for storage. Its 13-pound recommendation gives a clear starting point, but weight alone does not confirm that a pet will have enough room. It may not suit you if dependable base support or a consistently comfortable fit for extended carrying is essential, since buyer feedback on both is mixed.
