KastKing SuperPower Braided Fishing Line, 65 lb, 500 yd, 8-Strand, Black

Anglers looking for a thin braided line with direct feedback will find those priorities in this KastKing SuperPower setup. Its near-zero stretch is designed to help transmit subtle bites and changes in bottom structure.

The 8-strand polyethylene braid has a 65-pound breaking strength and comes in a 500-yard spool. Its slim profile can also leave more room on a spinning or casting reel.

The black line pairs a round, smooth braid with abrasion resistance and strong knot performance. Together, these features support casting, lure control, and everyday fishing setups.

Quick overview

This is a braided fishing line built around sensitivity and casting. The tightly woven, 8-carrier construction creates a round, smooth profile, while the thinner diameter helps increase line capacity on a spinning or casting reel. That combination is useful when you want a substantial length of line on your spool without choosing a thicker-diameter option.

The line is rated for 65 pounds of breaking strength and supplied on a 500-yard spool. Its near-zero stretch helps convey changes at the lure, including light bites and contact with bottom structure or obstacles. That feedback can help anglers adjust a presentation as conditions change, while the low-stretch design also supports responsive hook sets. The black color and abrasion-resistant braid make it a practical choice for anglers selecting a dark line for their setup.

How to use it

Spool it onto a compatible spinning or casting reel, then tie secure knots before fishing. The smooth, round braid is designed to make tying strong knots easier, careful, proper knot tying remains important. On the water, the line’s sensitivity can help you distinguish lure movement from contact with the bottom, while its supple feel supports casting. For example, when working a lure across changing structure, the feedback can help you notice contact and adapt how you present it.

If you are choosing between braided line and a different line type, this option puts the emphasis on thin diameter, sensitivity, and reel capacity. Buyers also praise its smooth casting and strength, and some describe the braid as durable and resistant to fraying. Feedback on durability is mixed, and some buyers report color transfer or fading, so color retention experiences vary.

Getting the most from it

Match the line to the reel and fishing approach you plan to use, and make use of the 500-yard spool when filling a spinning or casting reel. Its 65-pound rating gives a clear strength reference when selecting line for your setup. The thin braid can help preserve spool capacity, while the smooth 8-strand construction is intended to support longer casts and accurate lure placement.

Pay attention to the line as you fish: its sensitivity can make subtle changes at the lure easier to detect, and contact with structure may provide useful feedback for adjusting your presentation. Tie knots carefully to make the most of the line’s knot-strength design. Buyers frequently highlight its smoothness and casting feel, with varied reports about color durability.
