KARLOFF Revered by Death Vinyl Album, 29-Minute Runtime

Some listeners want an album with a raw edge, others look for a heavier sound with a darker atmosphere. KARLOFF’s second full-length, Revered by Death, brings those qualities together on vinyl. How does it build on the band’s earlier sound? It keeps the lead-heavy stomp of The Appearing while moving into moodier, murkier territory.

Tech specs

• Name: Revered by Death
• Type: Full-length album
• Format: Vinyl

The album runs 29 minutes, making it a compact choice for a focused listen rather than a sprawling, extended session. Its sound draws on the raw character of the band’s demos and pairs it with the weighty, lead-driven approach associated with The Appearing. The result is described as meaner and darker, with a murky feel and a sense of restrained intensity. These details make the record especially relevant to listeners choosing by atmosphere as much as by format.

Tips for day-to-day use

Revered by Death suits a deliberate album listen when you want the music’s shifting character to take center stage. The shorter runtime can fit naturally into a dedicated listening break, while the contrast between rawness and a heavy stomp gives the record a clear identity throughout. Put it on when you’re in the mood for a darker, more oppressive sound rather than a bright or easygoing backdrop.

For listeners weighing a familiar continuation against a more dramatic change in direction, this album sits between those expectations: it follows logically from The Appearing, yet its mood is murkier and more forceful. That connection offers a useful point of reference for fans of KARLOFF’s earlier full-length, while the heavier atmosphere gives the follow-up its own character. You’ll appreciate it if you’re drawn to raw-sounding, lead-heavy music with a darker edge.

What you get

This is KARLOFF’s second full-length album, presented in vinyl format. Its defining features are the combination of demo-like rawness, a pronounced lead-heavy stomp, and a moodier, darker feel. The album comes from the German band KARLOFF, and its 29-minute runtime keeps the listening commitment concise. If you’re choosing a record based on its overall tone, those details give you a clear sense of the experience the album is designed to deliver without relying on a long track-by-track rundown.

Is it worth it?

Revered by Death is a fitting pick for vinyl listeners looking for a compact heavy album with a raw foundation and a darker atmosphere. Its connection to The Appearing gives returning listeners a familiar thread, while the murkier mood and restrained sense of violence set this second full-length apart. Choose it for a focused listen when that blend of weight, grit, and shadow is what you want from an album.
