In The Swim Y1300 Algaecide 60 Plus for Pools, 1 Quart

For routine pool care or a visible algae issue, In The Swim Algaecide 60 Plus is designed to help prevent and control several common algae types. Its liquid format makes it a practical choice for above-ground and in-ground swimming pools.

The non-foaming formula is intended for pools with attached spas, waterfalls, or decorative fountains, where excess foam can be unwelcome. It is also compatible with several common sanitizer systems.

The 1-quart size provides a dedicated supply for pool treatment, with application amounts tailored to maintenance or algae conditions.

Pros

This algaecide targets green, yellow, black, and pink algae, making it useful for ongoing prevention as well as pool care when algae is visible. Its non-metallic, low-odor, non-foaming formula suits pools where foam and strong odors are a concern, including setups with attached water features.

The formula is pH tolerant across acidic and alkaline ranges, so pool chemistry does not need to be adjusted before application for the algaecide to work across those ranges. It is compatible with chlorine, bromine, biguanide, and salt systems, giving pool owners flexibility across different sanitation approaches. The product is also described as suitable for pools using well water.

Key takeaways

This is a liquid algaecide for above-ground and in-ground pools, with use cases spanning regular prevention and treatment of visible algae. Buyers commonly praise its effectiveness and non-foaming behavior, and some report good results in pools using well water. Feedback about its effect on water color is mixed, so color outcomes should not be treated as guaranteed.

Usage tips

The recommended initial dosage is 6–11 ounces per 10,000 gallons. For standard maintenance, the recommended amount is 2–4 ounces per 10,000 gallons, for visible algae, it is 11–17 ounces per 10,000 gallons.
