HOMESTEC AstroDraw AB0811 LCD Drawing Tablet, Aqua/Purple Space Design

For families looking for a creative activity for young children, the HOMESTEC AstroDraw AB0811 offers a portable LCD surface for drawing, doodling, and early writing practice.

Its colorful lines and space-themed design make it inviting to use, while printed letters and numbers on the back add familiar learning prompts.

A lightweight build, included stylus, and simple erase control make it easy to bring along for car rides, flights, school, or creative time at home.

Usage tips

Use the stylus to draw, write, practice letters, or make quick doodles on the LCD screen. When it’s time for a fresh page, press the rocket-shaped erase button to clear the screen. A lock key helps protect a drawing from being erased accidentally, which is useful when a child wants to keep a picture on display for a while. Drawings are cleared rather than saved, so the board works best for temporary creations and repeat use.

The handle design supports carrying the tablet between activities, and its compact footprint makes it practical to pack for travel. For example, a child can sketch during a car ride, erase the board when finished, and start another drawing without needing a stack of paper. The colorful screen and space graphics give the activity a playful focus, while the letters and numbers printed on the back can be used as prompts for simple writing and recognition exercises.

Why it’s worth it

Compared with a paper pad and crayons, this reusable drawing surface offers a simple way to keep drawing activities together in one portable tablet. The stylus provides a dedicated tool for making marks, and the erase button resets the board for another round. That format suits short, repeatable activities at home or on the go, especially when a child wants to switch between doodling and practicing letters or numbers.

Buyer feedback often highlights the tablet’s portability for flights and car rides, its lightweight feel, and its bright, colorful lines. Experiences are more varied around erasing: some buyers find it easy to clear, while others report concerns about the button’s reliability. Some also say the screen can be difficult to see. These perspectives are useful when choosing between a reusable LCD board and a traditional paper-based drawing set, the AstroDraw’s appeal is its carry-friendly format and quick reset for repeated sketches.

Final verdict

The HOMESTEC AstroDraw AB0811 is a practical fit for young children who enjoy drawing and simple writing activities, with a colorful LCD screen, included stylus, and erase-and-redraw format. Its lightweight, handled design makes it particularly suited to taking creative play along to school, on family trips, or from room to room at home.
