HOMBYS 5SFHM24271P Couch Cushion Insert, 5-Inch Foam with Polyester Batting, 24 x 27

Everyday use

At 24 x 27 inches and 5 inches thick, the HOMBYS replacement cushion is made to refresh a sofa seat with a firm, high-density foam insert wrapped in polyester batting. The batting helps give the cushion a fuller appearance and smooth the fabric cover. Need a practical way to replace a worn sofa insert? Its removable, zippered polyester cover makes routine cleaning straightforward, while the foam arrives ready to place after expansion.

Use it as a sofa seat insert or as upholstery padding for furniture such as chairs, ottomans, stools, or window seats. The 24 x 27-inch footprint gives you a clear starting point when matching a replacement to an existing cushion cover. Measure the cover or seat area before ordering so the insert suits the space you want to refresh.

Benefits

The foam core and polyester batting serve different roles: the foam provides the firm seat base, while the outer wrap helps the cushion look fuller beneath its cover. This construction makes the insert useful for a sofa refresh when you want an upholstery replacement rather than a complete piece of furniture. It can also be used to add padding to other indoor seating, including chairs and ottomans.

The cover can be removed with its zipper and machine washed, making it easier to care for than a cushion with a fixed outer cover. For a typical replacement, open the package, unroll the cushion, cut away the plastic, and allow 24–48 hours for it to expand, cooler temperatures may require additional time. Buyers describe the fit and comfort positively overall, while feedback on firmness is mixed. Some also report that the perceived size or thickness differs from their expectations, so matching the listed dimensions to your cushion space is a useful step.

Compared with buying an entire sofa cushion assembly, an insert is a focused way to update the padding while keeping the furniture and, where suitable, its existing cover. The removable cover also gives this option a practical care advantage over inserts that cannot be uncovered for washing.

Before you decide

How do I choose the right size? Measure the cushion space or cover you plan to use, then compare it with the listed 24 x 27-inch size and 5-inch thickness. A close match helps the insert sit properly inside the cover.

Can I wash the cover? Yes. The cover is removable with a zipper and is machine washable.

How long does it take to expand after unpacking? Unroll the cushion after removing its packaging and allow 24–48 hours for expansion. Cooler temperatures may extend that time.

Is it worth it?

This HOMBYS insert is a useful choice for refreshing a sofa seat when its 24 x 27-inch size suits the cushion space and you want firm foam with a polyester batting wrap. The removable, washable cover adds convenient upkeep, and the insert can also serve as padding for other indoor furniture. For a targeted seating update, it combines a defined replacement size with materials and care features suited to everyday home use.
