HELEMAN HLM-DSS-022 Magnetic Door Stoppers, 2-Pack, Stainless Steel

Opening a window or carrying items through a doorway is easier when the door can stay open. The HELEMAN HLM-DSS-022 uses a magnetic catch to hold a door in place. Its compact stainless steel design can be mounted in several locations. Choose adhesive pads for a no-drill setup or screws for a more permanent installation.

Who it’s for

This two-piece set suits homes, offices, classrooms, and other spaces where an interior door needs to stay open during everyday use. The magnetic hold-open design offers an alternative to placing a loose doorstop on the floor: once installed, the stopper and catch provide a designated point for the door to meet. That can be useful when moving items between rooms, airing out a space, or keeping a frequently used doorway clear.

The white, modern finish is designed to blend into a range of room styles, while stainless steel gives the hardware a clean, practical look. Use the mounting arrangement that fits the doorway and the placement you prefer, whether at the floor, baseboard, wall, top of the door, or near the handle. Adhesive pads offer a no-drill installation option, screws are available for a more fixed mount.

Where it shines

The magnetic catch is intended to keep a door open rather than simply cushion it at the end of its swing. In a kitchen, bedroom, or home office, that can help maintain an open passage while you carry something through or want air to move between rooms. A mounted stopper also gives the door a consistent contact point, helping protect the door and nearby surfaces from impact during normal use.

Buyers commonly appreciate the straightforward installation, appearance, and ability to hold doors open, with some specifically noting the no-drill option. Feedback on magnetic strength and adhesive performance is mixed. Choosing between the included adhesive-pad approach and screw mounting lets you match the installation method to your preferred setup.

When it makes sense

Choose this set when you want a magnetic, mounted hold-open solution in place of a portable wedge that must be repositioned or picked up after use. The two-piece format provides hardware for more than one doorway, and the range of mounting positions gives you flexibility in where the catch meets the door. For everyday household or workplace doorways, its main benefit is simple: a clear, designated way to keep a door open when hands are busy or a passage needs to remain accessible.
