Generic Clear Tarp, 8 x 14 ft, 14-Mil Waterproof PVC with Grommets

Practical tips

For a porch enclosure or greenhouse side, this clear tarp creates a weather barrier while keeping the space bright. Its 8 x 14 ft size is suited to covering a broad opening, and the transparent PVC lets you maintain a view of the area beyond it.

Use the grommets around the edges to secure the tarp with the included rope or cable ties. The grommets are spaced every 20 inches, giving you regular attachment points along the perimeter. If the tarp has folds after unpacking, lay it flat or place it in a warm environment or direct sunlight to help the creases relax.

Strengths

The 14-mil PVC material is waterproof and designed to resist tearing and everyday abrasion. Reinforced edge stitching and strengthened corners add support at common attachment and stress points, while the black border gives the clear panel a defined edge. These details make it useful for outdoor enclosures where a simple transparent sheet needs to be fastened around its perimeter.

With 99% light transmittance, the tarp is designed to preserve a bright, open feel rather than turn a porch or patio into a fully opaque enclosure. It can also serve as a clear side barrier for a greenhouse or chicken coop, helping shield the space from rain, wind, dust, and airborne debris while keeping the interior visible. Buyers often praise its clarity and quality, feedback on durability and whether the size meets expectations is more mixed.

Key takeaways

Choose a clear cover when visibility and daylight matter as much as creating a barrier. An opaque tarp may make more sense when blocking the view is the priority, this clear PVC option is aimed at porches, patios, greenhouses, and similar setups where you want to see through the covering. Its reinforced edges, regularly spaced grommets, and included fastening supplies support practical installation across a larger opening.

The listed dimensions are 96 inches long by 168 inches wide, corresponding to the stated 8 x 14 ft size. Plan the placement around the opening you want to cover, then use the perimeter grommets to attach the tarp at suitable points. It suits you if you need a waterproof, transparent outdoor cover for an enclosure that should remain light-filled.
