Frigidaire thermostat 318578506

When an electric range or stove needs a thermostat replacement, matching the part to the appliance matters as much as having the right tools. The Frigidaire 318578506 is a replacement thermostat intended for electric ranges and stoves, with compatibility to confirm in your appliance manual before you buy.

This is a repair part, not a plug-and-play accessory. The listed skill level is experienced repair person, and specialized training is recommended for installation.

Key specifications

The product is a Frigidaire thermostat, model 318578506, for electric ranges and stoves. Its practical value depends on whether that exact part is approved for your appliance, the product name alone does not establish compatibility with every range or stove. Check the user manual and appliance details before ordering rather than relying only on a similar-looking part.

The description identifies it as a genuine Frigidaire part designed to the maker’s specifications. That may matter if you are choosing between a manufacturer part and a generic replacement, but it does not remove the need to verify the model match. A thermostat replacement is most relevant when the part has already been identified as the repair needed, not as a first guess for any cooking problem.

Who it’s for

It suits you if you have confirmed that your electric range or stove calls for this thermostat and you are arranging a repair with the right experience. For example, after identifying the required part from the appliance manual, you can compare its part number with 318578506 before setting up the repair. That step helps avoid buying a component based on the appliance category alone.

You may want to skip it if you are looking for a universal thermostat, have not confirmed the appliance match, or plan to install it without repair experience. Installation is rated for an experienced repair person, according to the maker, someone with specialized training is recommended for optimal results. Gloves and safety glasses are among the listed requirements, so this is not a casual swap to approach without preparation.

Everyday use

The supplied information does not list extra items included in the package, so plan around the thermostat itself rather than assuming tools or installation accessories come with it. The stated tools include a #2 Robertson screwdriver and a 1/4-inch nut driver. A wall oven cart is also listed for built-in applications, along with gloves and safety glasses.

That tool list is useful when deciding whether this repair fits your setup. A built-in oven may require equipment beyond what a basic home toolbox has, while a repair involving an accessible range still calls for the specified drivers and protective gear. If you are hiring a repair person, the part number and appliance manual can help clarify what the job requires.

Buying verdict

This part makes sense when the manual or a qualified repair person confirms that model 318578506 is the correct thermostat for your electric range or stove. Its specific part number and maker-branded positioning make it a more targeted route than choosing a generic component by appliance type alone. The trade-off is that the listing does not establish broad compatibility or make installation suitable for every DIYer. Confirm the match first, then decide whether the required tools and repair skill are already covered.
