The separate black and color cartridges let you replace both ink types in one purchase. That suits households and home offices that print a mix of text and color, rather than needing only one cartridge at a time. The stated page yields are measured at 5% coverage, so actual output varies with what you print and how much ink each page uses.

Tips for day-to-day use

For routine letters, forms, and school or office documents, the PG-245XL black cartridge handles monochrome printing, use the CL-246XL when graphics or color details are part of the job. The listed media options also make the combo suitable for switching between plain-paper documents, glossy photo paper, and card stock on a compatible printer. Before ordering, match your printer’s model number against the compatibility list so you select cartridges intended for that PIXMA series.

Buyers commonly describe the cartridges as working with their printers and speak positively about print quality. Feedback on color results is mixed, and some buyers say the ink does not last as long as they expected. These experiences can vary with print coverage and use, so the stated yields offer a useful reference when planning regular printing.

What you get

The package contains one PG-245XL black ink cartridge, one CL-246XL color ink cartridge, and a user guide. The pair is a practical fit for a printer that uses both cartridge types: you can replace black and color together instead of building a purchase around only one ink color. It is also a straightforward way to keep both types on hand for different print jobs.

Is it worth it?

If your compatible PIXMA printer uses the PG-245XL and CL-246XL cartridge types, this combo brings black and color ink together with stated yields of up to 500 and 300 pages, respectively, at 5% coverage. It makes particular sense for mixed home printing—such as black-and-white paperwork alongside color graphics or glossy photo prints—where both cartridges have a role. If you mainly need one ink color, a single-cartridge purchase is a different approach, this pack is aimed at replacing or stocking both.
