Diono Solana 2 XL 2022 Backless Booster Seat, Dual LATCH, Blue
Product description
A booster for a growing child needs to support everyday rides, while a family seat may need to move between vehicles. The Diono Solana 2 XL 2022 is a backless belt-positioning booster designed for children from 40 to 120 lb. Its wide, contoured base, padded armrests, and dual LATCH connectors make it practical for regular use and transfers between vehicles.
How to use it
Secure the booster to the vehicle using its automotive steel LATCH connectors and two adjustable LATCH straps. Tighten the straps to secure the seat, the quick-release design makes it easier to move the booster between vehicles or store it in a trunk. The shoulder belt positioner helps guide the vehicle’s shoulder belt into place, while the accessible buckle area supports a child learning to buckle independently. An adult should still check the belt fit and buckling before each ride.
The two built-in cup holders fold away and serve as snack trays, keeping a drink or small essentials close by during a trip. The contoured base and layered foam cushioning provide a supportive seat, while padded armrests add a comfortable place to rest. When it needs cleaning, the soft fabric cover can be removed for machine washing.

Strengths
The Solana 2 XL brings together belt guidance, a broad contoured seating area, and features that make longer everyday routines easier to manage. The retractable holders keep drinks and snacks within reach, then fold away when they are not needed. Removable, machine-washable fabric is a practical detail for a seat used by a growing child, and the adjustable LATCH straps support a secure installation that can be released when the booster needs to move.
Buyers often praise the comfort, cup holders, and room for taller or wider children. Feedback on the overall width is mixed, as is feedback on using the LATCH system and the amount of cushioning. Those varied impressions make it useful to consider the child’s seating needs and the space available in the vehicle alongside the product’s specific features.
Compared with choosing a booster mainly for compactness, this model puts emphasis on a roomy contoured seat, padded armrests, and integrated snack and drink holders. That combination is especially relevant for families looking to support a growing child through regular car rides while keeping essentials close at hand.
Is it worth it?
A solid pick if you want a backless booster for a child within the stated 40–120 lb range and value belt-positioning guidance, removable machine-washable fabric, and built-in retractable holders. Its adjustable LATCH setup also suits families who may need to move the booster between vehicles. For everyday rides, it combines practical belt support with comfort-focused details that make the seat useful beyond simply raising a child to the vehicle belt.
