Diono High-Back Booster Seat, Foldable

The foldable design makes the Diono Airi easier to carry between vehicles and stow when it’s not in use, while its slim profile is designed to fit three seats across in most cars. It’s a high-back booster for children ages 4 and up who meet the listed size ranges, with built-in head support and belt positioning to help guide the vehicle belt. The removable cover is machine washable, a practical detail for everyday messes. Without having tried it, the clearest buying consideration is fit: “most cars” doesn’t mean every vehicle, and the product details don’t give seat dimensions for checking a specific back seat.

Key specifications

The Airi is listed for children weighing 40–100 lbs and measuring 43–57 in. It weighs 4.1 lbs and folds for travel and storage. Diono says its narrow profile fits three across in most cars, which may be useful for families managing multiple child seats, though the exact fit depends on the vehicle and the other seats in use.

The seat has contoured padding, built-in head support, and precision belt positioning intended to help prevent the belt from slipping or twisting. It meets FMVSS 213B standards for child restraints. The cover can be removed and machine washed, so cleanup doesn’t rely on wiping down the seat alone.

Who it’s for

It suits you if you need a booster that can move between vehicles or fold away between trips, and your child falls within the stated size range. For example, a caregiver could fold it after a school pickup and carry it to another car instead of leaving a full-size seat in place. The light listed weight supports that portable-use purpose, while the high-back format and built-in head support provide more structure than a basic backless booster.

Not the best choice if you need confirmed three-across fit in a particular vehicle before buying. The description only says it fits three across in most cars, it doesn’t provide dimensions or guarantee that arrangement with every combination of seats. It also isn’t listed for children outside its stated weight or height ranges.

Everyday use

The product details describe a foldable booster seat, but don’t specify additional package contents, so there’s no basis for assuming accessories are included. In day-to-day use, the main conveniences are carrying it between cars, folding it for storage, and removing the cover for machine washing. Those features favor families who value portability and simpler cleanup over a fixed seat that stays installed in one vehicle.

Questions before you buy

What size child is the Airi listed for? It’s specified for ages 4+, 40–100 lbs, and 43–57 in. Use those listed limits when deciding whether it fits your child.

Can it fit three seats across? Diono describes the profile as narrow enough for three across in most cars, not all cars. The listing provides no dimensions to confirm fit in a particular vehicle.

Is the cover washable? Yes. The cover is removable and machine washable, according to the product details.

When it makes sense

Choose the Diono Airi when a foldable, portable high-back booster fits your child’s listed size and makes switching vehicles or storing the seat easier. Its slim design is also worth considering when space is tight, with the important qualification that three-across fit is not guaranteed in every car. If you need certainty about a specific seating arrangement, a booster with dimensions you can compare against your vehicle is the more practical route.
