Cesun 2.6-Gallon Automatic Bathroom Trash Can with Motion Sensor, White

Who it’s for

At 2.6 gallons, this white plastic trash can is sized for everyday bathroom or bedroom waste rather than a large household’s main bin. Its slim rectangular shape is intended for narrow spaces, such as a tight bathroom corner or the area beside a toilet. The motion sensor opens the lid without a foot pedal, while a manual button offers another way to operate it. Choose this touchless approach if hands-free access matters more than the simplicity of an open-top can.

Worth considering if you want a compact bin with both sensor and manual operation, especially where a foot-operated model would be awkward. You may want to skip it if you need a higher-capacity bin or prefer a lid with no electronic operation.

Key specifications

• Capacity: 2.6 gallons
• Material: Plastic
• Color: White
• Shape: Rectangular
• Opening mechanism: Motion sensor, with manual button
• Power: 2 AA batteries, not included
• Features: Odor-sealing lid, quiet close, removable bag-fixing ring

Why it’s worth it

The sensor is designed to open when a hand or another object enters its sensing area, which can be useful when your hands are occupied. Keep your hand in the sensing zone and the lid stays open, after you move it away, a green light flashes and the lid closes after five seconds. You can also use the button to open or close the lid manually. That gives the can more flexibility than a sensor-only design, though it still depends on batteries for automatic operation.

A close-fitting lid is intended to cover the contents and help contain odors. The removable inner ring holds a trash bag in place and conceals excess material around the rim, so the liner is less visible. For a small bathroom, those details may matter more than features aimed at sorting or holding larger amounts of waste. In a practical setup, it could sit in a narrow gap and handle routine bathroom trash while keeping the lid closed between uses.

Buyer feedback is mixed on the points that matter most for a sensor bin. Some customers appreciate how it fits small bathrooms and corners, and some say the sensor and lid work as described. Others report inconsistent opening or closing, or that the lid stopped working, opinions on its size also vary, with some finding it compact and others finding it narrower or smaller than expected. Those experiences are worth weighing if dependable lid operation or a roomier bin is a priority.

Before you decide

Does it need batteries? The automatic sensor requires 2 AA batteries, which are not included. The listing also describes a manual button for opening and closing the lid.

How does the lid stay open? It remains open while a hand or another object is in the sensing area. Once the area is clear, the green light flashes and the lid closes after five seconds.

Does it hold a trash bag in place? A removable inner ring is designed to secure the bag and hide excess liner around the opening.

Is it worth it?

This Cesun can makes sense if you need a small, touchless bin for a bathroom, bedroom, or home office and value a lid that can also be operated manually. Its stated capacity is modest, so it suits routine waste in a compact space better than a setup that calls for a larger bin. The close-fitting lid and bag ring add practical touches, but customer reports about sensor and lid reliability are mixed. If those functions are central to your decision, factor that uncertainty in, if a compact footprint and hands-free opening are the main priorities, its feature set is aligned with that use.
