BRANO GS01S 36-Inch Wall-Mount Range Hood, 900 CFM, Voice Control

Everyday use

Voice, gesture, and touch controls give the BRANO GS01S several ways to adjust the hood while cooking, including hands-free operation when the control panel is inconvenient to reach. Its four-speed fan is rated for up to 900 CFM, and adjustable LED lights add task lighting over the range. The stainless steel and tempered glass canopy has a more decorative look than a basic, all-metal hood, so it may suit a kitchen where the vent is a visible part of the design.

The hood supports both exhaust and recirculation ventilation. For ducted installation, the product information specifies a 6-inch round vent. The adjustable chimney is listed for ceiling heights from 19.6 to 39 inches, an extension for ceilings up to 50 inches is sold separately. That ceiling-height detail is worth considering before choosing it, especially if the extension would be needed.

Pros

The control options are a practical differentiator: voice commands and gestures can be useful when your hands are occupied, while touch controls offer a conventional alternative. Buyers also praise the appearance and voice control, though feedback on overall functionality is mixed, some report that speed settings stopped working within six months. Those reports are individual experiences, not a stated product specification, but they are relevant if you prioritize dependable operation over extra controls.

Removable, dishwasher-safe filters make routine grease cleanup more straightforward than with a design that requires washing a fixed filter in place. The listed 65 dB noise level gives a concrete point of comparison when weighing this against a quieter hood, while the 900 CFM rating and four speeds may appeal to cooks who want several fan settings. A solid pick if you want a wall-mounted hood with a glass-and-steel look and multiple control methods. Not the best choice if your installation requires a ceiling extension and you want that part included, or if you prefer a simpler hood without voice and gesture controls.

Questions before you buy

Can it vent outside? Yes. The product details list exhaust as an option, and the installation information specifies a 6-inch round vent for ducting. Recirculation is also listed as a ventilation mode.

What ceiling heights does the chimney support? The adjustable chimney is specified for 19.6 to 39 inches. An extension is needed for ceilings up to 50 inches and is sold separately.

How are the filters cleaned? The stainless steel baffle filters are removable and described as dishwasher-safe, so they can be taken out for cleaning rather than washed in place.

Is it worth it?

The GS01S makes the most sense when its control flexibility, adjustable lighting, and decorative canopy are meaningful to your kitchen setup. Its airflow rating and choice of exhaust or recirculation give it more setup flexibility than a basic hood with only one ventilation mode. Before settling on it, match the chimney range to your ceiling and decide whether the separately sold extension is necessary. The mixed buyer feedback on functionality is also a reason to weigh the extra controls against a simpler model if long-term control reliability is your main concern.
