BODACIOUS BD-72Q-NEW 3.5 cu. ft. Chest Freezer with Removable Basket

For apartment, home, or office users who need separate frozen-food storage without setting aside room for a full-size freezer, the BODACIOUS BD-72Q-NEW offers a 3.5 cu. ft. chest format.

Its white finish, top-opening door, and listed dimensions of 16.14"D x 20.47"W x 30.51"H give you specific measurements to compare with the space you have available.

Would a compact chest freezer suit your routine? The main tradeoff to weigh is its manual defrost design, which calls for periodic frost removal rather than automatic defrosting.

Everyday use

A chest freezer adds a separate place for frozen food, rather than asking a refrigerator’s freezer compartment to handle everything. That can be useful for keeping extra items on hand at home or adding storage in an apartment or office. The removable basket can help keep smaller items accessible above the main compartment, while the mechanical control lets you select among the listed temperature settings.

The drain port is relevant when it is time to clean or remove excess ice. Since this is a manual-defrost model, maintenance is part of ownership, it does not offer the convenience of a frost-free system. The product information also advises leaving the freezer unplugged for 24 hours after delivery before turning it on.

Buyer feedback is generally positive about the compact footprint, storage space, and quiet operation. Reports about freezing performance are mixed, however: some buyers say it freezes well, while others describe it stopping work or experiencing frost buildup. Those comments are perceptions, not a guarantee of how an individual unit will perform, but they are worth weighing alongside the specifications.

What you get

The listed package includes one 3.5 cu. ft. freezer, and the product name specifies a removable basket. No other included accessories are identified. Before choosing a spot, compare the listed exterior dimensions with the space available and allow for the top-opening door to be used. Its 38.8-pound listed weight may also matter when planning where it will sit.

It makes sense if you want a dedicated, compact chest freezer and are comfortable with manual defrosting. Compared with relying only on a refrigerator freezer, it provides separate capacity, a larger or frost-free model may be a better fit for a more demanding storage routine. It may not suit you if automatic defrosting is a priority.

Before you decide

How do you adjust the temperature? The freezer has mechanical temperature control with 6 settings. The product information does not specify temperatures for each setting, so select based on the guidance provided with the appliance.

How much space should you plan for? The listed dimensions are 16.14"D x 20.47"W x 30.51"H. Measure the intended location against those figures before placing the unit.

When can you turn it on after delivery? The manufacturer’s product information says to leave the freezer for 24 hours after receiving it before connecting power.

When it makes sense

Choose this model when a separate 3.5 cu. ft. freezer fits your space and manual maintenance is acceptable. Its compact dimensions and removable basket suit a straightforward extra-storage setup, while its top-opening chest design differs from an upright freezer with front-facing shelves. If you need frost-free operation or have more demanding storage needs, compare those requirements with this model’s manual-defrost format before deciding.
