BIIB 9-in-1 Multitool Pen

If you want a simple everyday pen, a regular ballpoint will do the job, if you like having a few small tools close at hand, this BIIB multitool pen takes a different approach. Its aluminum body combines writing with practical extras, including a ruler, screwdriver tips, a level, and an LED flashlight. That makes it suited to quick, minor tasks at a desk or around the house, rather than replacing a dedicated tool kit. The gift box and included replacement refills and batteries also give it a ready-to-gift angle.

Where it shines

The appeal is having several occasional-use tools in one pen-sized item. You can jot a note, check a small measurement with the ruler, or use the level for a quick alignment without reaching for separate items. For example, while setting up a small shelf or tightening a loose screw, the screwdriver can be close by, the flashlight may help when the screw is in a dim corner. The product description says the bottle opener can also act as a phone holder, adding another use when you want to prop up a phone.

You’ll appreciate it if you enjoy compact gadgets that can handle little jobs as they come up, or want a practical-looking gift rather than a purely decorative one. If you prioritize a full-size screwdriver or a standalone flashlight, a dedicated tool is the more suitable approach, this pen is built around portability and combining functions.

Key points

The listed functions are a twist ballpoint pen, ruler, flathead and Phillips screwdrivers, bottle opener, stylus, level, and LED flashlight. The front end rotates to access the stylus and screwdriver, so it is worth knowing that the tools are reached through the pen’s mechanism rather than carried separately. The aluminum construction keeps the design focused on a compact, reusable everyday item.

The set includes three replacement pen refills and three replacement batteries, along with a gift box. Those extras are useful to have on hand, though the supplied details don’t specify the refill or battery type. From the way it is set up, the pen makes most sense for occasional convenience tasks, not work that calls for sustained use of individual tools. Its compact format is a real tradeoff: having several functions together saves space, but does not provide the reach or dedicated handling of separate tools.

Best use cases

Keep it with everyday desk supplies, take it along for light household tasks, or give it to someone who enjoys useful pocket-sized gadgets. The writing function means it can still serve as a pen when the extra tools are not needed, while the stylus and ruler add options for quick interactions and checks. The gift packaging and replacement supplies make it easier to present as a small occasion gift for a dad, husband, or another adult who appreciates multi-use gear.

It’s not for you if you need a primary screwdriver set, a precise measuring tool, or a flashlight for more demanding jobs, no detailed dimensions or performance ratings are provided. Think of it as a pen with occasional-use extras, not a compact substitute for a complete toolkit.

When it makes sense

Choose this if the main draw is having writing and several basic functions together, and you’re comfortable with compact tools for quick fixes. It is also a reasonable gift direction when you want something functional, packaged for gifting, and distinct from another standard pen. Skip it if you expect any one function to perform like a dedicated tool or need specifications to match it to a particular task. The decision comes down to convenience: a handful of small capabilities in one item, in exchange for the limitations of a pen-sized format.
