AuKing smart projector

The built-in licensed apps are a practical standout: Prime Video and YouTube are listed as ready to use, so basic streaming does not depend on adding a separate stick. The AuKing also supports 4K HDR sources, while its native resolution is 1080p—a distinction worth keeping in mind if you expect a native 4K image.

Its feature set is aimed at flexible movie nights, from a living room with some ambient light to an outdoor setup.

How to use it

Set it on a table, floor, or shelf, then use autofocus and automatic keystone correction to help bring the picture into focus and shape. The included foldable, removable stand is described as rotating 360° and tilting 180°, which gives you more freedom to aim it at a wall or ceiling. For a casual evening, that could mean moving the projector from a shelf to the patio and adjusting its angle without building a permanent setup. How much space do you have for the image? The supplied details don’t give a throw distance or image-size range, so planning placement is harder without that measurement.

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are included, along with AirPlay, Miracast, and DLNA screen mirroring. The description also names connections for streaming sticks, game consoles, laptops, and phones, though it doesn’t specify a complete port list. Dolby Audio is built in, but anyone expecting room-filling sound may still prefer separate audio equipment for a larger gathering.

Pros

• Native 1080p resolution with support for 4K HDR content, it is not described as a native 4K projector.
• The listed 5000 ANSI lumens are intended to help the picture remain usable when a room isn’t fully dark, though the description’s brightness claim isn’t a substitute for knowing your screen and lighting conditions.
• Prime Video and YouTube are among the officially licensed apps listed as built in.
• Autofocus, automatic keystone correction, and the adjustable stand reduce manual setup steps.
• Linux OS, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 support a mix of streaming and device connections.

You’ll appreciate it if you want a projector that combines built-in streaming with flexible placement, rather than a simpler model that relies on an external streaming device. The product also lists a 99.8% wide color gamut, but the supplied details don’t explain how that figure is measured.

When it makes sense

This model makes the most sense if you value an all-in-one setup for streaming, casual gaming, or occasional outdoor viewing and can work with native 1080p. For a movie night, built-in apps and autofocus may make setup less fiddly than pairing a basic projector with a separate streaming device. Its portability-minded stand also suits people who move a projector between rooms or take it outside.

It may not suit you if native 4K resolution is essential, or if you need exact projection-distance guidance before choosing a screen or mounting position. The description also doesn’t provide a full port list, so check that your intended wired devices can connect before settling on it.
