Akenow 36"Deck Balusters Wavy Cast-Iron Deck Spindles, Black, 61-Pack

A finished deck or porch railing can do more than define an outdoor space: its balusters also shape the look of the whole project. Akenow’s black, wave-shaped cast-iron spindles add a curved detail to railings around decks, stairs, porches, and other areas that need a railing.

Each baluster measures 36 x 1 inches and has pre-drilled holes at both ends. Matching screws are included, so you can attach the spindles to a wood or metal frame without sourcing fastening hardware separately.

The 61-piece set pairs a matte, rust-resistant coating with a wavy profile. The finish is designed for weather resistance, while the curved shape brings a decorative accent to a practical railing component.

Everyday use

Use the balusters to fill the open sections of a deck railing, add detail to porch rails, or carry a consistent design across stair railings and other fence-style barriers. Their wave shape creates a more distinctive outline than a plain straight spindle, making the railing itself part of the visual design. The black finish works with a range of railing styles, from modern settings to more traditional outdoor spaces.

For installation, the pre-drilled ends help position each spindle, and the included screws are intended for attaching them to wood or metal frames. The listed 36-inch length can also be cut to suit your installation needs. Plan spacing and placement to match the railing frame and the requirements of your project.

Why it makes sense

This set brings together the balusters and matching screws in one 61-piece pack, a practical format for a railing project that needs multiple spindles with a consistent finish and shape. Cast iron gives the pieces a solid material profile, while the matte anti-rust coating is intended to help protect them in different environments. Together, these details make them useful where a railing needs both a functional infill and a decorative feature.

If you are choosing between plain, straight spindles and a more ornamental railing detail, the wave-shaped design offers a visible change in silhouette without requiring a different kind of railing project. Buyers often highlight the appearance and describe the balusters as a welcome addition to decks and porches. Feedback on material and the supplied screws is mixed, so it is sensible to check the hardware and fit during installation.
