STATIONERY ISLAND Sketchbook A4 60 Sheets 🎨

This spiral-bound sketchbook offers a reliable surface for drawing, sketching and light painting, combining portability with durable paper for everyday creativity. The 60 A4 pages of 160gsm paper give a smooth, acid-free surface that helps prevent bleed-through and preserves your work for longer.

Key Points

The sketchbook lies flat when open thanks to its sturdy spiral binding, which makes it easier to work across the gutter and to switch between portrait and landscape orientations. It is lightweight enough to take on location yet robust for studio use. The paper is acid-free and formulated to resist yellowing, which supports archival storage of drawings and studies. For dry media such as pencil, charcoal and graphite, the surface provides consistent texture and good tonal response. Consider that for heavier watercolour washes or very wet techniques this grade of paper may not perform like specialised watercolour stock.

Benefits

The medium weight of the pages balances rigidity with flexibility, so you can achieve detailed work without worrying about pages buckling. The smooth, yet toothy finish accepts a wide range of dry media and light ink or marker work with minimal feathering. Because the paper is acid-free, drawings maintain clarity over time, making it suitable for keeping a progressive sketch archive. The compact A4 format is useful for sketchbooks that need to fit into a bag or portfolio while still offering ample working area.

Usage Recommendations

Use this sketchbook for studies, quick compositions, figure drawing and urban sketching where portability matters. For charcoal and heavier graphite work, you will find the tooth useful to build layers and textures. When working with markers or ink, test on a corner page first to confirm bleed resistance according to the pen brand and nib size. If you plan to use heavier washes or layered watercolours, mount sheets separately or choose a heavier paper designed specifically for painting. 🎨 For mixed media experiments, add a protective sheet between pages to avoid transfer when the sketchbook is closed. ✏️
