Why it’s worth it
This gate is useful where a temporary but reliable barrier is needed. It installs as hardware mounted which provides a firmer fix than pressure systems, though that requires drilling. The absence of a bottom bar reduces trips when moving through with hands full, according to the product notes. It is suitable for children from six to 24 months and for small to medium pets within the stated weight range.
Usage tips
Installation can be completed with the supplied tools and a basic DIY skillset, fit both at the top and bottom of stairs and in external covered thresholds where appropriate. It’s a good idea to check the recommended optimal opening of around 35" during fitting to ensure the mesh retracts smoothly, and to follow the locking instructions closely when used at the top of stairs.
Care & maintenance
Wipe the mesh and frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent when needed, then let it air dry. Regularly inspect the locking mechanism and mounting points for wear and retighten fixings if the gate becomes loose. Note that hardware mounting is required for secure use, and professional fitting may be preferable on older or uneven surfaces.
