Arrow Video The Exorcist III 4K UHD Blu-ray, Region Free
Product description
Presented on 4K UHD Blu-ray, this Region Free edition brings The Exorcist III to your film collection. William Peter Blatty’s personal vision combines horror with a detective story. Its theological themes sit alongside moments of sheer terror. The result is a film that draws on mystery as well as supernatural horror.
Why it’s worth it
The Exorcist III offers a different route into horror from a film built solely around frightening set pieces. Its detective-story framework gives the narrative an investigative dimension, while its theological themes add ideas for viewers to follow alongside the suspense. Blatty, who wrote the original 1973 film, brings his own vision to this story, making the connection to the earlier work a meaningful part of its identity.
That mix makes the disc a considered choice for a horror night when you want more than scares alone. It can also suit viewers exploring the series or adding a story-driven horror title to a physical-media collection. The 4K UHD Blu-ray format gives the release a clear place in a collection organised around UHD films, while its Region Free designation is useful for buyers considering regional playback.
Highlights
The film is described as a hellish horror detective story, bringing investigation and terror together rather than relying on a single genre angle. Its thoughtful theological themes add another layer to the viewing, giving the story material beyond its frightening scenes. This combination can appeal to horror fans who enjoy films with both a mystery to follow and deeper ideas to consider.
Blatty’s connection to the original 1973 masterpiece gives the film a distinctive creative context: he wrote that earlier work, and The Exorcist III is presented as his personal vision. It is therefore a strong fit for viewers interested in his approach to the story, as well as for collectors looking for the film in 4K UHD Blu-ray format. Compared with choosing a horror title purely for supernatural spectacle, this release stands out for pairing that sense of terror with detective-story structure and theological themes.
Practical tips
This is a 4K UHD Blu-ray release, so choose it for a setup that plays 4K UHD Blu-ray discs. Its Region Free designation is relevant when checking regional playback requirements. If you are selecting a film for a group, its blend of investigation, theological subject matter and horror provides a useful guide to the kind of viewing it offers.
For a focused watch, follow the detective-story element as well as the horror: the film’s appeal rests on that combination. It also makes a natural choice for a double feature with the original 1973 film if you want to explore the connection through Blatty’s writing and creative vision, without treating the two as the same kind of story.
Is it worth it?
The Exorcist III is a compelling addition for viewers who want horror with a mystery at its centre and ideas that extend beyond the scares. Blatty’s authorship links it to the original film, while the detective-story approach gives this entry its own identity. Choose this Arrow Video edition if you want the film in 4K UHD Blu-ray format, with Region Free status, for a horror collection or a night of thoughtful, unsettling viewing.
