Arrow Video Mona Lisa Limited Edition 4K UHD Blu-ray, Region Free
Product description
As a limited-edition 4K UHD Blu-ray, Arrow Video’s Mona Lisa brings this gangster drama to home viewing in a format suited to a compatible UHD Blu-ray player.
Bob Hoskins stars as George, a chauffeur working for a powerful London gangland boss played by Michael Caine. Cathy Tyson plays the high-class prostitute George is hired to drive between clients.
The story moves beyond the chauffeur’s routine when she asks George to help find an old friend. His search leads him into a dangerous underworld, shifting the focus from a gangland kingpin’s power to the experience of an ordinary man caught up in it.
Everyday use
Mona Lisa suits a focused film night for viewers drawn to British crime stories and character-led drama. George is not a crime boss: he is an underling whose work puts him close to the gangland world without making him part of its inner circle. That viewpoint gives the story a distinct route into its setting, following the people affected by the criminal hierarchy as well as those who control it.
The central relationship gives the plot its momentum. George’s job is to transport his passenger from client to client, but her request for help takes him beyond the task he was hired to do. The resulting search brings personal stakes into a story rooted in organised crime. It is a good fit for a home screening when you want a narrative that combines a gangster setting with a journey driven by a character’s choices.

Where it shines
The film’s appeal lies in the contrast between George’s modest place in the gangland operation and the dangerous world he enters. Michael Caine’s character is the commanding kingpin, while Hoskins’s George is a hired driver who becomes involved through the person he is transporting. Tyson’s character is more than a passenger in the plot: her request to trace an old friend gives George a reason to move beyond his assigned role.
That makes Mona Lisa a natural choice for viewers who want a crime film with a personal thread, rather than a story centred solely on gangland status and control. It also gives the cast a clear dynamic: George is caught between the boss who employs him and the woman asking for his help. For a collector, the 4K UHD Blu-ray format and limited-edition status bring a defined physical release of the film to the shelf, for a film night, the story offers a contained starting point that develops into a search through a harsher world.
Is it worth it?
A solid pick if you want a region-free 4K UHD Blu-ray of Mona Lisa and enjoy British gangster drama led by Bob Hoskins, with Michael Caine and Cathy Tyson in key roles. Its strongest draw is the combination of a crime setting and George’s unexpected involvement in a search for an old friend, making it especially suited to viewers who value character and story alongside the gangland backdrop.
