TFA Rain Gauge Post Mount with Clear Scale and Removable Vessel

Some gardeners want a quick way to check recent rainfall, others prefer to keep a closer eye on how much has fallen over time. The TFA Rain Gauge makes those readings easy to see at a glance.

Its clear scale is marked to show even small rainfall readings, while the large-diameter vessel helps provide more precise readings when rainfall is higher.

Place the holder directly in the ground or mount it on a post or free-standing pole. That gives you a practical choice of position in the garden.

Everyday use

Set the gauge where it can collect rainfall, then read the measurement on the clear scale along the side of the removable vessel. The markings are designed to make smaller readings visible as well, so the gauge can be useful for checking modest rainfall as part of your regular garden routine. When more rain has fallen, the large-diameter vessel supports more precise readings of higher quantities.

For example, you can check the gauge after a spell of rain and use the reading to keep track of conditions around your garden. Its straightforward design centres on collecting and reading rainfall, rather than adding extra functions that are not needed for this everyday task. The plastic vessel and holder are suited to either direct ground placement or post mounting, letting you choose a position that works for your outdoor space.

Why it’s worth it

The main benefit is a clear, uncomplicated reading. A scale that is easy to see helps make rainfall checks more straightforward, whether you are interested in small amounts or heavier showers. The wider vessel is also intended to give more precise readings at higher rainfall quantities, making the gauge useful across a range of conditions.

Buyers commonly praise its simple, functional design and readable markings, with some highlighting the large numbers as helpful when checking amounts. This simplicity makes it a sensible choice if you want a dedicated rainfall gauge rather than a more involved way of monitoring the garden.

Worth noting

The gauge can be positioned directly in the ground, fixed to a post, or used on a free-standing pole. Choose a spot that is exposed to rainfall and easy to reach when you want to read the scale. The removable vessel makes the measuring section accessible, while the holder provides the placement options for setting up the gauge in your garden.

Before you decide

How do you read the rainfall measurement? Read the clear scale along the side of the removable vessel. Its markings are intended to make even small rainfall readings visible.

Can the gauge be mounted on a post? Yes. It is suitable for post mounting, and the holder can also be placed directly in the ground or used on a free-standing pole.

Is it suited to heavier rainfall as well as small amounts? The clear grading supports small readings, while the large-diameter vessel is designed to provide more precise readings when rainfall quantities are higher.

Final verdict

The TFA Rain Gauge Post Mount is a practical fit for gardeners who want a simple, readable way to check rainfall. Its clear scale, removable measuring vessel and choice of ground or post placement make it easy to work into a regular garden routine.
