LEGO Friends 42673 Family Holiday Beach Resort Building Set with 6 Mini Dolls
Product description
For children aged 8 and over who enjoy building and making up holiday stories, the LEGO Friends Family Holiday Beach Resort combines a multi-level resort with beach activities and a group of characters. The set includes six mini dolls, a dolphin and a turtle, giving children plenty of figures to bring into their play.
It has 1,140 pieces, so the building is part of the activity rather than just a short lead-in to play.
Tech summary
- Name: Family Holiday Beach Resort
- Type: LEGO Friends building set
- Pieces: 1,140
- What’s included: Six mini dolls, a dolphin figure, a turtle figure, a buildable pedalo, an ice cream stand, a beach wheelchair and beach accessories
- Dimensions: Main model measures over 18 cm high, 45 cm wide and 24 cm deep
The resort offers several settings for play, including a toy hire shop, a slide, a turtle’s hidden cave, a fire pit, a bedroom and a bathroom. Accessories such as surfboards, snorkels, helmets, drinks, ice cream cones, a camera and a suitcase help children create different scenes. The beach wheelchair adds an inclusive detail to the play setup.
How to use it
Children can build the resort and pedalo, then use the mini dolls and animal figures to invent their own holiday adventures. One story might follow Nova and her family arriving at the resort, another could revolve around the turtle’s cave, a visit to the ice cream stand or an afternoon trying out the beach activities. The set is designed for one to four participants, so it can be built or played with alone or shared with family and friends.
Compared with a simpler set focused on a single scene, this one offers several connected areas and more figures for changing the story. That breadth makes it suited to open-ended play, while the 1,140-piece build calls for more time and involvement than a small, ready-to-play toy.
Who it’s for
It’s a good fit if the child enjoys both construction and imaginative play, particularly stories about holidays, family outings or sea animals. The range of characters and accessories gives siblings or friends different roles to take on, and the resort’s indoor and outdoor areas offer more than one setting to play with.
The stated age is 8+, and the safety information warns that small parts present a choking hazard and the set is not suitable for children under 3. Better avoided if you are choosing a toy for a child below that age, the recommended age and warning should guide the decision.
Before you decide
What is included? The set has 1,140 pieces, six mini dolls, a dolphin and a turtle, along with the resort, pedalo, ice cream stand and beach accessories.
Can it be built or played with as a group? Yes. It is designed for one to four participants, making shared building or play possible.
What kind of play does it support? The resort, beach activities and character figures are suited to building scenes and inventing holiday stories, rather than only displaying a finished model.
When it makes sense
Choose this set when the child is likely to enjoy a substantial build as well as plenty of imaginative play afterwards. Its multiple areas, characters and beach accessories give a shared activity room to develop into different stories. If the main aim is a quick, simple toy with little building involved, a smaller set would be a more suitable approach, this resort is best considered for children ready for the build and the play that follows.
