Valuetoner 245XL Black Ink Cartridge 2-Pack for Canon PIXMA Printers

If you need a black ink replacement for regular home printing, this two-cartridge pack offers a straightforward way to stock up. It is a compatible Valuetoner 245XL cartridge set for selected Canon PIXMA inkjet printers, with two black cartridges for documents and other plain-paper print jobs.

Each cartridge includes a chip and is described as high yield. The listed printer compatibility makes it easier to match the pack to a supported PIXMA model before ordering.

Pros

Two black cartridges provide a ready replacement and a spare for later, helping keep routine printing on track. The cartridges are made for inkjet printers and plain paper, making them suited to everyday documents such as forms, notes and correspondence. Their black-only format keeps this pack focused on text and monochrome printing rather than a mix of ink colours.

Buyer feedback is mixed. Some customers appreciate the value and report that the cartridges work with their printers, while others describe inconsistent recognition or print quality, including light grey output instead of black. Experiences with cartridge life also vary. Matching the printer model carefully is a useful first step when choosing this replacement.

Key takeaways

This is a compatible replacement for Canon 245XL / PG-245XL black ink, supplied as a two-pack. Listed compatible models include Canon PIXMA TR4520, TR4522 and TR4527, MX490 and MX492, iP2820, and selected MG and TS printers. The full listed range includes MG2420, MG2520, MG2522, MG2525, MG2555, MG2920, MG2922, MG2924, MG3020, MG3022 and MG3029, plus TS202, TS302, TS3120, TS3122, TS3320 and TS3322. Check the exact model name on your printer against this list before choosing a cartridge.

The manufacturer describes the yield as up to 400 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage on A4 paper. Actual page yield depends on what is printed and how much of each page is covered in ink. The two-pack format suits households or small workspaces that want a spare cartridge available for upcoming print jobs.

Usage tips

Use the cartridges in a listed compatible PIXMA printer and follow the printer’s usual cartridge replacement process. For the most reliable match, compare the complete printer model number—not just the PIXMA name—with the compatibility list. This pack is intended for black printing on paper, so it suits everyday text documents and other monochrome jobs.

Store unused cartridges in a cool, dry place, as recommended by the manufacturer. The manufacturer also states that the cartridges are not refillable, replace them when needed rather than attempting to refill them.

Is it worth it?

This two-pack is a practical choice when your printer is among the listed Canon PIXMA models and you want two compatible black cartridges in one purchase. The spare can be kept on hand for the next replacement, while the 245XL format is intended for users who print routine documents and prefer to stock up rather than buy a single cartridge each time. Its strongest fit is straightforward black-ink printing with a supported PIXMA printer.
