v4ink CF258X Black Toner Cartridge 2-Pack with Chip, 20,000 Pages

For routine black-and-white printing at home, in a small business or in an office, this v4ink CF258X toner cartridge two-pack provides a ready supply for compatible HP LaserJet Pro printers.

Each cartridge is rated for up to 10,000 pages at 5% coverage on Letter/A4 paper, for a stated combined yield of 20,000 pages. That high-yield format is suited to regular print jobs and helps keep replacement stock on hand.

A built-in chip displays the toner level, so there’s no separate chip installation step. The cartridges produce black output for everyday paper documents.

Who it’s for

This two-pack suits people who print black-and-white documents regularly and want a higher-yield cartridge for a compatible printer. It’s intended for use with select HP LaserJet Pro models, including the M404dn, M404dw and M404n, as well as the MFP M428fdn, M428fdw and M428dw. Check your printer’s model name before choosing a replacement to make sure it matches the listed compatibility.

If you’re choosing between a standard-yield 58A cartridge and the higher-yield 58X format, the rated page counts offer a practical distinction: the 58X is rated for 10,000 pages per cartridge, while the 58A is rated for 3,000 pages, at 5% coverage on Letter/A4. The 58X format is a useful fit for busier print routines where a larger rated yield is the priority.

What you’ll notice day to day

The two cartridges are ready to use with their chips installed, and the chip displays the toner level in the printer. That makes it easier to keep track of the supply as you work through documents, rather than installing a chip separately. Black, single-colour laser printing is a straightforward match for letters, forms and other plain-paper office documents.

When setting up a compatible cartridge, follow the printer instructions to turn off Cartridge Policy and Automatic Upgrade. If the printer displays a message about non-HP cartridges after installation, select “OK” to continue printing. These steps help you proceed through the printer’s setup prompts when using a compatible replacement.

Key takeaways

The package contains two black CF258X cartridges, each rated for 10,000 pages at 5% coverage on Letter/A4. Together, the stated yield is 20,000 pages. The built-in chip displays the toner level, and the cartridges are designed for listed HP LaserJet Pro M404 and MFP M428 printers. This combination of a two-cartridge supply and higher per-cartridge yield is useful for keeping a regular stream of document printing supplied.

Should you buy it?

Choose the v4ink CF258X two-pack if your printer is among the compatible models and you want a black toner replacement in a higher-yield format. It’s a practical match for home offices, small businesses and workplaces printing plain-paper documents, with two cartridges on hand and a rated 10,000-page yield per cartridge at the stated coverage. For users comparing it with the 58A format, the 58X’s higher rated yield makes it the more suitable choice when a larger page supply per cartridge matters.
