SONGMICS Folding Camping Chairs, Set of 2

Technical details

A bulky chair can be a nuisance when you’re packing for a campsite, heading to the beach or making room on a balcony. This set gives you two seats that fold away and fit into their carrying bags.

Each chair weighs 5.1 lb and supports up to 265 lb. The steel frame has a stated wall thickness of 0.8 mm, while the 600D Oxford fabric has a water-repellent coating. That coating is not the same as a claim of waterproofing, so these are better treated as outdoor chairs than as gear to leave exposed to heavy rain.

The seat measures 16.5 inches deep by 15.7 inches wide, with a seat height of 16.9 inches and an 18.9-inch backrest. Folded, each chair measures 5.5 inches deep by 33.9 inches wide by 5.5 inches high. The listed size is worth comparing with your storage space before buying.

Getting the most from it

The two-chair format is handy for trips or outdoor spots where you want a matching seat for a companion without carrying full-size furniture. Picture setting them up beside a campsite: drinks can sit in the armrest pockets, and a phone can stay close rather than getting buried in a bag. The listing also names fishing, garden use, hiking, football games, the beach and balconies as possible settings.

It suits you if portability and a place for a drink or phone matter more than a wide seat or elaborate features. If you’re choosing between this and a heavier, roomier chair for long periods of sitting, the compact seat dimensions may make the latter a better match. There’s no assembly required, unfold the chair and sit down.

Usage tips

Keep the carrying bags with the chairs so they’re ready to pack away after an outing. For a balcony or garden, check the folded dimensions against the space where you plan to store them, the listed width is 33.9 inches. The armrest pockets are useful for small items, but the listing does not specify pocket dimensions, so don’t assume they’ll hold every cup or phone securely.

Use the stated capacity as a per-chair limit: each chair is rated for up to 265 lb. The fabric’s water-repellent coating may suit occasional outdoor use, but it doesn’t establish how the chairs perform in prolonged wet conditions. Based on the listing, treat that as a practical limitation rather than a promise of all-weather protection.

Before deciding

The set prioritizes easy carrying and simple setup, not a broad seat or a detailed range of comfort adjustments. The seat is 15.7 inches wide, and no reclining function or other adjustment is listed. It may not be the best fit if you need a roomier chair or want specific features that aren’t stated here. For a casual fishing stop, a garden break or a game on the sidelines, though, having two foldable chairs with armrest pockets is a straightforward setup.

Before you buy

Do the chairs need assembly? No. The listing says to unfold them for use.

Can each chair be carried in its bag? Yes. Each folds and is stored in a carrying bag, the listed weight is 5.1 lb per chair.

What weight does each chair support? The stated capacity is up to 265 lb per chair. If that limit or the seat width is close to what you need, use those figures to decide whether this set is suitable.
