OFFO HC-BS-912-B11 Bird Spikes, 8 ft Black PP Perch Deterrent

Made from black PP plastic, these OFFO bird spikes provide 8 ft (2.44 m) of coverage for outdoor perches and edges. The set has six pieces, each measuring 40.6 cm long, with a flexible, cut-to-fit base to help you adapt the layout to the area you want to protect.

The raised spikes are designed to discourage birds from landing without harming them. Use them to address common roosting spots such as balconies, window sills, roofs, gutters, ledges and doorways.

Everyday use

Place the strips along the surfaces where birds tend to land or nest. Their direct, physical barrier is useful when the goal is to protect a particular edge, rather than relying on a deterrent intended to cover a broader area. The flexible base can be cut to suit the space and adjusted around different outdoor surfaces, making it practical for a balcony ledge, a section of gutter or a fence line.

The black finish keeps the product visually simple against many outdoor settings, while the spike design makes the intended use clear: discourage birds from settling on the protected surface. It is aimed at deterring pigeons and woodpeckers, and the product description also names cats. Choose the placement according to the spot you want to keep clear, and secure the strips appropriately for that surface.

Why it’s worth it

Rather than trying to address birds across an entire yard, these spikes let you focus on the specific ledge or edge where they gather. That targeted approach can help reduce unwanted perching, nesting and the droppings associated with regular visits. The six-piece set offers a combined stated length of 8 ft (2.44 m), and the cuttable base helps tailor the coverage to the area at hand.

Buyer feedback often highlights use on balconies and straightforward installation. Opinions on spike height and value vary, and some owners report breakage over time, including when using a staple gun. For fitting, the flexible base and ability to cut the strips make it easier to shape coverage around a defined spot, handle and fasten the plastic with care during installation.

Key features

The spikes are made from PP plastic and have a black finish. Each piece measures 40.6 x 5.1 x 10.2 cm, and the set contains six pieces. The product description gives the individual spike length as 100 mm (4 in) and width as 51 mm (2 in). Together, the pieces are presented as an 8 ft (2.44 m) deterrent run.

A flexible, bendable base supports fitting along different edges, while its cuttable design helps adapt the strip length to a particular section. The spikes are intended to prevent birds from landing, offering a non-harmful way to discourage them from using selected outdoor surfaces as perches or nesting sites.

Should you buy it?

It makes sense if you want a targeted physical deterrent for a balcony, ledge, roof edge, gutter or similar outdoor perch, and value the ability to cut the base to fit the area. The 8 ft set gives you multiple sections to arrange around the chosen spot, while the black PP construction and bird-deterring spike design keep the solution straightforward. For a defined surface where pigeons or woodpeckers regularly settle, these OFFO strips offer a practical way to make that landing area less inviting.
