HOMCOM 838-444V82BK Storage Bench, Black, with 2 Safety Hinges

An entryway can need more than a place to sit: it may also need a tidy home for everyday items. The HOMCOM storage bench combines a seating surface with a concealed compartment, helping keep shoes, blankets or books out of sight.

Its black finish and modern style suit an entryway or living room, while the cut-out side handles make it easier to move the chest when you want to change the layout.

The flip-top lid uses two safety hinges that hold it open at 60° or higher. That controlled opening helps make access more practical during daily use and reduces the chance of the lid closing suddenly.

Practical tips

Use the bench in an entryway to keep shoes and other household essentials together, or place it in a living room for blankets, pillows and books. The lift-up lid gives access to the full hidden compartment, while the cut-out handles offer a practical grip when repositioning the chest. Keep the stated load capacities in mind: the top supports up to 120 kg, and the storage compartment supports up to 40 kg.

Assembly is required, and the package includes a manual. The safety hinges are designed to hold the lid open at 60° or higher, helping reduce the risk of sudden closure while you reach inside. The water-resistant finish adds a useful everyday feature for a piece of furniture used around the home.

Buyer feedback often highlights the bench’s appearance and how it serves as useful concealed storage. Some buyers also raise concerns about durability, including reports of issues around the hinge area. These experiences vary, so the product’s stated load capacities and intended household use are helpful guides when choosing where and how to use it.

What’s included

The package includes one storage chest and one instruction manual. The bench arrives requiring assembly, so follow the manual to put the labelled parts together before use.

When it makes sense

This bench is a practical fit when you want a seating surface and hidden storage in the same footprint. Compared with keeping everyday items on an open rack or shelf, the enclosed compartment keeps them tucked away for a neater-looking entryway or living room. It also works well when you want one movable piece for seating and household storage rather than separate furniture for each task. If you’re organizing an entryway or adding a concealed place for linens and books, its flip-top access, safety hinges and 100 cm length make those routines easier to manage.
