DREO HM717S Smart Humidifier, 8 L, Warm and Cool Mist, App Control

Best use cases

Switch between warm and cool mist to tailor indoor humidity to the season and your comfort. With an 8 L tank and coverage for rooms up to 600 ft², the DREO HM717S is designed for bedrooms, living rooms, nurseries, offices and other indoor spaces where a larger-capacity humidifier can serve the room for longer between refills. Its stated runtime is up to 80 hours, making it a practical fit for overnight use or extended periods at home.

If you want a simple unit for a small area, a compact humidifier may better suit that task. The HM717S focuses on room-wide coverage, adjustable humidity and connected controls. Use the app to check humidity, set schedules and view reports, or choose touch controls and voice commands through Alexa or Google Home.

Where it shines

The humidistat and auto mode help maintain a chosen humidity level by adjusting operation automatically. For daily routines, that means you can set a target rather than continually changing mist output yourself. The unit also offers warm mist for cooler-season comfort and cool mist for warmer months, giving you two mist options in one device.

Its 550 ml/h mist output is intended to distribute moisture across larger rooms, while the 8 L tank supports longer operation between top-ups. A reported operating noise range of 28–35 dB makes it suitable for spaces where a quieter background matters, such as a bedroom or study. Customers have praised the quiet operation, tank capacity and app connectivity, feedback on humidity output and duration is mixed, so individual experiences vary.

Before you decide

Can I choose between warm and cool mist? Yes. The HM717S offers both options, so you can select the mist type that suits the season or your preference.

How can I control it? Use the touch controls or the DREO app to monitor humidity, set schedules and view reports. Voice control is also available through Alexa and Google Home.

How often will I need to refill the tank? The 8 L tank is rated for up to 80 hours of continuous operation. Actual runtime can vary with settings and use, so the stated maximum is a guide rather than a fixed refill interval.

Is it worth it?

For a larger indoor space where you want both mist options, a substantial tank and hands-on or app-based humidity control, the HM717S brings those needs together in one humidifier. Its room coverage, scheduling features and voice-control options make it especially useful for households that want to manage humidity as part of a daily routine, whether in a bedroom, nursery or shared living area.
