BNYFDC HD250808 Bankers Desk Lamp, Green Glass Shade and Brass Finish

For reading, writing or desk work, the BNYFDC HD250808 brings a focused light source and a classic green-glass look to a home office, study or bedside table. Its shade rotates up to 350°, so you can direct the downlight towards the area you’re using, while the pull chain makes switching it on and off straightforward.

The polished brass-finish base and green glass shade pair vintage character with a minimalist style. Choose it when you want adjustable task lighting with a decorative presence, rather than a lamp focused only on ambient room light.

Key points

The green glass shade is the defining feature, complemented by a polished metal base with a brass finish. The shade’s 350° rotation lets you change the direction of the light for different desk tasks, such as reading a page or working with items spread across a surface. A pull-chain switch keeps everyday control simple and adds to the traditional bankers-lamp design.

The lamp uses an E26 bulb base and is listed for an incandescent light source up to 60 watts. It has a plug-in, corded-electric power source and a freestanding desktop mounting style. Its dimensions are 26.7 x 17.5 x 40 cm, making it a defined tabletop fixture for a study, bedroom, living room or classroom. The product listing also specifies a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Buyers speak positively about its appearance and sturdiness, with comments highlighting its polished look and stable feel. These impressions complement the practical appeal of the adjustable glass shade and pull-chain control.

Tips for day-to-day use

Place the lamp on a stable indoor surface and rotate the shade to aim the downlight where you need it. This is useful when moving between reading and other desk tasks, as you can reposition the light without changing the lamp’s location. Use an E26 bulb that stays within the listed 60-watt rating, and operate the pull chain to turn the lamp on or off.

The green glass and brass finish also make the lamp part of the room’s décor. Position it where the shade and base can be seen, such as on a study desk or side table, while keeping the light directed towards your working area.

Everyday use

In a home office, the rotating shade can be angled towards notes or reading material, in a bedroom or living room, the same pull-chain control offers a simple way to operate the lamp from its tabletop position. Its combination of task-directed light and a recognisable bankers-lamp silhouette suits spaces where a desk lamp needs to contribute to the room’s appearance as well as serve a practical purpose.

If your priority is adjustable light for a specific surface, the rotatable shade offers more direction-setting than a fixed-shade desk lamp. If you mainly want general room illumination, a ceiling or floor light serves a different purpose. Worth considering if you want a freestanding, plug-in desk lamp with a green glass shade, E26 socket and traditional pull switch.

Should you buy it?

Choose the BNYFDC HD250808 for a study, office or reading spot where directed light and classic styling matter together. The 350° rotating shade helps you aim the downlight at the task, while the green glass, brass-finish base and pull chain give the lamp a distinctive, functional place on a desk or side table.
