AUSCAT MWJ-YNN-Z Interactive Flapping Bird Cat Toy, Purple, Rechargeable

A touch-activated motion sensor brings this purple bird toy to life with flapping wings and chirping sounds, giving indoor cats an engaging way to play when they tap it. Its movement and sound make it a more interactive alternative to a stationary plush toy, while the included hook and elastic rope let you hang it for a different play setup.

It stays on the ground rather than flying, and offers three flapping modes for varied play.

Highlights

The toy cycles through common, intermittent and fast flapping modes. After activation, it moves for approximately 17 seconds before entering sleep mode, a new activation switches to the next mode. This gives play sessions a clear start and pause, and the sleep mode helps conserve energy when the toy is not being used. What happens when a cat gives it a tap? The sensor triggers movement and chirping to draw attention back to the toy.

A pre-installed catnip pouch adds another reason for cats to investigate and play. The soft plush body and multi-textured feathers offer different surfaces to paw at, while the bird shape and sound create a simple way to encourage active play indoors. The hanging hook and elastic rope provide an alternative to placing the toy on the floor, so you can choose a setup that suits the play area.

The built-in rechargeable battery is charged with the included USB cable. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour and supports up to 280 movement cycles per charge. The LED indicator turns green when charging is complete, switch the toy to “ON” before use.

How to look after it

For cleaning, detach the mechanism and remove the plush body. The toy is made from polyester plush and feather material, and its removable body makes it easier to clean the fabric portion separately from the working mechanism. Keep loose catnip out of the toy, as it can damage the mechanism, use the included pouch instead. Recharge with the supplied USB cable, and turn the switch off when the toy is not in use.

Best use cases

This toy is designed for indoor cats and suits short bouts of interactive play throughout the day. Set it on the floor for a tap-activated response, or use the included hook and elastic rope to hang it and offer a different way to engage. The sensor-driven movement and chirping can help prompt play when a cat needs an activity to explore independently, while the catnip pouch provides an added scent cue.

It is a practical choice for someone looking beyond a simple plush bird and wanting movement, sound and rechargeable operation in one toy. The three modes add variety between activations, and the ground-based design keeps the play focused on flapping rather than flight.

Is it worth it?

Worth considering if you want an indoor cat toy that responds to a tap and combines flapping motion, chirping and catnip. Its rechargeable design, selectable hanging setup and removable plush body make it useful for regular play and straightforward care. For cats drawn to bird-like movement and sound, the AUSCAT offers a compact way to encourage active engagement at home.
